Chapter 9
Dokgo Beomjin had gone crazy.
Yes, he had definitely lost his mind.
“You’re completely drunk.”
“If that’s easier for you to accept, then let’s go with that.”
“Ha.”
Sui shook her head.
“How can you say something like that? How? You shouldn’t be doing this.”
“Try it first, then decide. If you hate it, we can just call it a drunken mistake and go back to being friends.”
Perhaps because she had fallen asleep in the taxi and only recently woken up, her entire body felt heavy and languid, her mind hazy.
Beomjin’s lowered voice slithered into her ears like the tongue of a snake.
Soon, a deadly poison seeped into her through her eardrums.
The venom flowed through her veins and invaded her thoughts.
Just once.
Only once.
Just as Beomjin said, if it didn’t feel right, they could simply go back to being friends.
After all, by tomorrow, this idiot would forget everything.
She would be the only one left remembering.
So…
“Let’s do it.”
A large hand wrapped around her shoulders before sliding down her arm and settling around her waist.
Thud.
Beomjin pulled her toward him.
Sui fell into his embrace as though she had been tossed there.
“Let’s start with a kiss.”
At the suggestive words falling from above, she swallowed hard.
“If you don’t like it, push me away. I’ll back off.”
The dull, indifferent Dokgo Beomjin looked different.
His gaze, his touch, even the rhythm of his breathing felt dangerously stimulating.
It was as if every temptation in the world had been gathered together and molded into one person.
“Close your eyes.”
“…”
“Open your mouth.”
The moment Sui unconsciously parted her lips and released a slow breath—
Beomjin lowered his head and pressed his lips against hers.
Warm breaths mingled between their perfectly aligned lips.
Then something hot and wet gently slipped inside.
“…!”
Startled, she grabbed tightly at his collar.
As if reassuring her, his large hand softly stroked her back.
Beomjin entwined her frozen tongue and drank in the sweetness gathered within her mouth.
The rustling of fabric against fabric seemed unusually loud.
As he slowly and persistently explored every corner of her mouth, Sui couldn’t help letting out a quiet sound.
A strange sensation traveled down her spine and pooled deep in her lower abdomen.
Tilting his head further, Beomjin caught her hand and intertwined their fingers.
The sensations flooding through her body were far more intense than anything she had felt in the taxi.
When Beomjin finally pulled back slightly—
Sui unconsciously followed him.
Their damp lips met again with a soft smack.
Smiling against her lips, Beomjin leisurely brushed his tongue through her mouth as if soothing her.
“I’ll take this as your answer.”
“Haah…”
Even at his teasing remark, Sui lacked the strength to retort or glare at him.
It felt as though a sudden downpour had fallen only on her.
She didn’t want to admit it, but she had no choice.
Her kiss with Dokgo Beomjin—her very first kiss—was unbelievably deep, hot, and intoxicating.
She didn’t want to pull away.
She wanted to keep kissing him.
She didn’t want to escape the overwhelming sensation stirring everything inside her.
“You’re coming with me, right?”
That infuriating Dokgo Beomjin.
He already knew her answer, yet he still acted as though he were asking permission.
While smiling like that.
“I’ll make you forget.”
“…Forget what?”
“Everything that’s been hurting you.”
Had Dokgo Beomjin always been this good with words?
Usually she was the one talking while Beomjin simply listened and nodded.
Could it be…
Had he met someone she didn’t know about?
Then Sui violently shook her head.
What a stupid thought.
What did it matter who Dokgo Beomjin met or what he did?
They were practically family.
Tomorrow, they’d go back to being friends.
So…
Just for now.
At his sweet promise that he would make her forget everything that had been hurting her, Sui surrendered.
Blaming it on the alcohol.
“Don’t want to go?”
Apparently interpreting her headshake as rejection, Beomjin asked cautiously, his eyes darkening.
And moments like this made him seem like his usual giant puppy again.
“Can you promise?”
After hesitating, Sui finally spoke.
“That you’ll make me forget everything.”
The possibility that she might one day receive news of her father’s death.
The fact that when that day came, she would have to admit she was truly alone in the world.
Even this strange change in their relationship.
Everything.
“I promise.”
Beomjin effortlessly lifted her into his arms.
“I’ll swallow it all. Every last bit.”
Click.
The sound of the door closing behind them echoed unusually loudly.
Beomjin gently seated her on the bench by the entrance before crouching down.
“I-I can do it myself.”
The black Oxford shoes Sui wore to work were old and worn.
Embarrassed for some reason, she kept shifting the ankle he held.
Beomjin tightened his grip slightly and said,
“There’s only one thing you need to do today.”
As though they were some priceless treasure, he carefully removed her shoes.
“Accept me.”
He looked up at her.
“It’s okay.”
“…”
“We’re drunk, after all.”
The moment he finished speaking, he wrapped a hand around her neck and pulled her into another kiss.
Unlike the first kiss, which had been soft and exploratory, the second was hotter and far more intense.
Startled by his deeper advance, Sui pushed at his shoulder.
Beomjin caught her wrist and guided her arm around his neck.
Rising to his feet, he pulled her up with him and pressed her slender body tightly against his own.
Embarrassing sounds accompanied their mingling breaths.
Relentless and possessive, Beomjin seemed determined to leave his mark on her.
The gentle giant she knew had vanished completely.
What remained was something driven purely by instinct.
After removing Sui’s black jacket, Beomjin let it fall to the floor.
It looked almost like the wall that had stood between them.
“Hng…!”
Lost in the overwhelming pleasure washing over her like a tidal wave, Sui finally pulled away the moment his fingers brushed the buttons of her blouse.
“Haah, wait…”
Her pale hand barely managed to grasp his wrist.
“Here…”
“Ah.”
Their bodies were pressed closely together.
“It’d be a bit much for our first time to happen here, wouldn’t it?”
“No, that’s not what I meant—”
She had only meant that he shouldn’t be touching her there.
But Beomjin merely smiled mischievously.
“I wouldn’t mind.”
He gathered her back into his arms.
As he did, their bodies pressed even closer together.
“Hng…”
Unable to stop herself, Sui wrapped her arms around his neck.
“Put me down…”
“Don’t want to.”
“Pleeease…”
Her slurred words were so cute that Beomjin laughed before lowering her slightly and pulling her back against him.
The heat between them only intensified.
“Dokgo Beomjin, w-what is that? Did you put my thermos in your pocket or something?”
At her words, Beomjin let out a disbelieving laugh.
“Why would I put your thermos in my pocket?”
“It’s thick, big, and hard. It feels exactly like my thermos. It has to be.”
A few months ago, while they were walking home from work together, Sui had bought a thermos.
A particularly large and sturdy one, just as she described.
“I don’t think so.”
Still carrying her, Beomjin pressed her lightly against the wall.
The cold surface touched her back, making her gasp.
“Why don’t you check for yourself?”
The moment he shifted his hips—
Sui buried her face against his neck and trembled.
“W-Wait… stop… this feels strange…”
“It’s not strange.”
His voice was low and certain.
“It feels good.”
“Dokgo Beomjin, wait…!”
Beomjin kissed her again.
A soft sound escaped Sui as she clutched at his collar.
“…Hoo.”
As though he had reached his limit, Beomjin suddenly lifted her into his arms and headed toward the bedroom.
Every movement made the alcohol seem to spread further through her bloodstream.
Her thoughts became hazier while her senses sharpened.
The heat between them was becoming unbearable.
Embarrassed by her own reactions, Sui grabbed his shoulders the moment her back touched the soft mattress.
“Hey, Dokgo Beomjin! Are you even listening to me?”
“Yeah.”
“You’re obviously not. Look at your eyes.”
“Yeah.”
She was right.
Beomjin looked completely intoxicated.
His hand reached once more for the buttons of the blouse he had been unable to undo earlier.
