Synopsis
“This isn’t grave robbing. The Countess climbed out of her own grave and left this place herself.”
. . .
There was something Cecilia, the mistress of House Winterhall, always said as if it were a habit.
“I’m going to die.”
And every time, her husband Davion gave her the same answer.
“Stop joking around. I told you it’s not funny.”
But one day, she really did die.
The Countess’s sudden death.
And, incredibly, a week later, her grave was found completely empty.
After deceiving everyone with a witch’s potion, Cecilia finally managed to obtain perfect freedom.
“My plans aren’t anything special. First of all, I’m going to do a whole bunch of things that were forbidden in that damn household. Like drinking alcohol, for example, just like I’m doing now.”
Cecilia emptied her glass in one gulp and let out a satisfied,
“Ahh!”
But the moment she heard the next question, her expression darkened…
“Ah… My husband?”
She thought for a moment before casually shrugging her shoulders.
“That man used to describe me as the stain on his life.”
“……”
“He probably forgot someone like me a long time ago and is living comfortably again, flaunting his wealth like he always did, right?”
No.
Cecilia had no idea at all.
She had no idea how ruthless her husband could become after burying his own wife right before his eyes.
Or just how far he could fall apart.
