Chapter 01
Miterich.
It is a specialized hunter training institution created through an agreement between the government and the Hunter Association.
Miterich is quite famous, and many high-ranking hunters have graduated from it.
However, while its training methods are extremely effective, they are also quite bizarre, to the point that they remain controversial to this day.
Of course, no matter how outstanding Miterich may be, not all of its graduates can be exceptional.
Among the students, only a few in particular stand out with dazzling talent.
And those with such potential have already taken up top positions in the student council, steadily building their influence.
The student council building of Miterich was located a short distance away from the main administrative complex.
Compared to other buildings, it was relatively small in scale, but its exterior and surroundings were both beautiful and majestic.
The headquarters was decorated in a blend of yellow and orange, giving it a vibrant yet elegant appearance.
Moreover, it was surrounded by a garden full of flowers and trees, making it resemble a Western noble estate.
Tap, tap-tap.
Swish, click.
Inside the student council president’s office, the sounds of keyboard typing and mouse clicking echoed at the same time.
At Miterich, all administrative work except for general operations had to be handled by the student council and its subordinate departments.
Because of this, the student council president, as its representative, spent every day in the office dealing with work—it was his routine.
‘Why am I doing this here?’
Seohyun Woo, the student council president of Miterich, quickly moved his mouse, flipping through document pages.
No matter where the documents came from, he carefully checked every detail.
Students sent in requests and complaints, while the Miterich administration sent notices and various cooperation requests. Processing and reviewing them one by one took time.
‘Of course I’m doing this to survive. I’m not really sure how surviving and student council work are connected, though.’
Seohyun Woo let out a brief sigh and lifted his teacup.
He had many things he wanted to say, but there was no one who would listen to him.
Who would believe him if he said he wasn’t the original Seohyun Woo, that he came from another world, or that he had no idea how any of this happened?
[Maintain the position of student council president while completing Miterich.]
[If you fail to meet the condition, you will die.]
‘It’s certainly clear and simple. I don’t know which insane bastard came up with this condition. Haa…’
Seohyun Woo shook his head and leaned back.
With a creaking sound, the backrest of the chair slowly bent.
It was a luxurious chair befitting the student council president, offering great comfort.
‘Still, if I think about it, it’s not entirely bad. Being the student council president is better than becoming some unknown nobody.’
Thinking optimistically, Seohyun Woo closed his eyes.
It didn’t matter whether this world was real or artificially created.
All he had to do was try to survive by maintaining his position as student council president.
But the student council president was the strongest student in Miterich, meaning anyone who wanted that position would have to defeat him.
‘Even I think the abilities of the student council president are ridiculously overpowered. Without exceptional combat experience or mana, no one could possibly defeat him.’
Seohyun Woo had a rough idea of the people and events in this world.
The protagonist, main characters, supporting characters, and background extras.
In other words, this was the world of a novel he had only briefly read and enjoyed before.
‘The protagonist is probably either trying to enter Miterich or already enrolled and active. Eventually, he and I will have to fight for this position.’
Recalling thoughts he had had before, Seohyun Woo tilted his head.
But no matter how many times he thought about it, the conclusion was always the same.
‘I’ll just have to try a little. If things follow the original story, there shouldn’t be any major problems.’
In the end, the protagonist was the most important figure in this world, involved in countless incidents.
If he interfered even slightly, unexpected variables could arise.
That meant the story he knew could change—and perhaps something no one could handle might occur.
‘Anyway, the student council president doesn’t lose to the protagonist. But he doesn’t really win either. He just ends in a draw as in the original story and then leaves Miterich.’
Seohyun Woo neatly organized his thoughts and sipped his tea.
In truth, the student council president’s role in this world was not that significant.
Although he was called the strongest among the students of Miterich, he rarely appeared.
He would occasionally show interest in the protagonist, and in the end, only fight them in a match for the student council presidency.
‘Then what happens after the protagonist graduates from Miterich? I don’t even know what happens in that gap…’
The student council president was undoubtedly the strongest student in Miterich, and no one had ever taken his position.
However, there was little mention of him in the original story.
After the protagonist graduated, wasn’t he almost completely forgotten until reappearing much later in the story’s second half?
‘…Something feels off. I shouldn’t let my guard down.’
Seohyun Woo frowned and placed his teacup down.
He realized he might have been too complacent.
Could he really be sure this world would continue exactly as he knew it?
Even the smallest variable would need preparation.
‘Then there’s only one option. I just need to become stronger here. But… can I even get stronger anymore? I’m already strong enough as student council president.’
Seohyun Woo tapped the armrest of his chair with his finger, sensing a contradiction.
The abilities he possessed were already extraordinary, and no one could easily stand against him.
Once he graduated from Miterich, he would likely become a top-tier hunter.
‘There’s no one among the students who can beat me. If I just follow the story properly…’
“President, you seem quite busy. I suppose you didn’t even hear me knock.”
Suddenly hearing a voice, Seohyun Woo turned his head immediately.
A girl in a black uniform was walking toward him.
Long silver hair, faintly glowing lavender eyes, and porcelain-white skin.
Seohyun Woo knew exactly who she was.
“Ah, sorry. I was lost in thought and didn’t hear you knock.”
“Did you just say sorry?”
“Is there anything else I should say besides that?”
“….”
The girl stopped and carefully studied his face.
His behavior and tone were completely different from the student council president she knew.
If it had only happened once or twice, she might have dismissed it as a mood change, but recently this had become his constant behavior.
“Is something bothering you?”
“Something bothering me? My life has always been nothing but trouble.”
“Are you joking right now?”
“That could be considered a joke. In some ways, I’m serious too.”
“Are you messing with me?”
“I’ve never done that.”
“…?”
The girl grew increasingly certain that something was wrong.
There was no way the student council president would normally act like this.
“You’re not acting like yourself, President. You weren’t this careless before…”
“Well… that’s true. The original me… I mean, my personality was very strict and formal. I barely talked to anyone, not even you or the department heads outside of work.”
“You’re quite self-aware. Are you experiencing some kind of existential crisis at a young age?”
“It’s more like that since I came here. I just keep wondering why I have to live like this.”
“Why are you showing such weakness?”
“I wouldn’t call it weakness. I’d say I’m just being honest.”
Hearing this, the girl became convinced.
The student council president had clearly lost his mind.
“It seems serious. You should take a leave of absence and go to the hospital.”
“Thanks for the concern, but a hospital won’t fix this. I either die or see this through to the end—that’s the only solution.”
“Were you… thinking about suicide? No matter how much work piles up, you shouldn’t think so negatively.”
“Having you say that actually makes me feel a bit better. I’d appreciate your help from now on.”
“…You really are in bad shape.”
Baek Seoyeon, the vice student council president of Miterich, answered calmly while inwardly flustered.
Those words should never have come out of the student council president’s mouth.
He must either be under severe psychological stress or overwhelmed by excessive workload.
“Thinking about it, it’s not that hard. There’s no student who can beat me anyway, right?”
“You seem to be returning to your usual self. That’s a relief, but don’t let your guard down. There are many students aiming for your position.”
“You’re included in that list too. Haven’t you satisfied yourself just being vice president?”
“Then how about you hand over the president position and become vice president instead?”
Baek Seoyeon shot him a cold glare.
It seemed she should never show even a trace of sympathy toward the student council president.
The moment she let her guard down, he immediately tried to check her.
“That’s a bit difficult. I’d love to hand it over to anyone, but circumstances don’t allow it.”
“I see. I hope you don’t lose that mindset. I will always be aiming for your position.”
“Thanks. That’s actually a bit comforting. A beautiful lady keeping her eyes only on me—it’s not exactly something a man would hate.”
“…Are you really not going to the hospital?”
Baek Seoyeon sighed, genuinely speechless for the first time.
The student council president had never once complimented her before.
And now he had even used the word “beautiful,” which strangely made her feel uncomfortable.
“If you come with me, I might consider it.”
“I refuse. I’d rather spend that time training.”
“Of course. That’s exactly what I expected from you.”
