Prologue
A sunlit room in the palace annex was bathed in warmth.
The flowers arranged by the window swayed gently in the breeze, filling the air with a soft, pleasant fragrance. Amidst this comfortable atmosphere, I—Lilibelle—sank into the sofa.
Whenever I was on the bed, someone would immediately tell me to “rest,” so this sofa was my only safe haven.
“Lily, you look pale. Did you touch cold water just now? Should I cast a healing spell, just in case?”
“W-wait a minute, Luke…!”
My brother’s golden hair shimmered as he took my hand, beginning to weave the light magic. I hastily tried to stop him.
“I’m really fine. I just worked a little outside, so using a healing spell would be overkill.”
“But what if something happens? You’re not exactly robust, Lily…”
“I’m completely fine now, I promise! Really, really fine!”
Reluctantly, Luke withdrew his hand. He still looked unconvinced as he leaned in to check my cheeks. The way he peered at me was so endearing that I almost laughed.
Suddenly, I was hoisted off the sofa with a firm grip. This time it was Roland. My red-haired brother lifted me effortlessly and tried to move me to the bed.
“W-wait, Roland! What are you doing!?”
“Don’t push yourself! It’ll be more comfortable lying down than sitting, right?”
“I’m f-fine! Please don’t carry me!”
“No, that’s not fine!”
With a resigned sigh, Roland set me down. When I collapsed onto the pillow, he even tried to cover me with a blanket. How overprotective can one person be?
“Brothers… can you two calm down just a little…?”
“…Even if they are siblings, isn’t your closeness a bit too much?”
A graceful voice cut through the commotion.
Keith, with black hair and golden eyes, approached with a smile. Somehow, though he was smiling, a chill ran down my spine.
“Of course it’s natural! Lily’s a cute little sister,”
“I’m just making sure she doesn’t fall sick again!”
Luke and Roland spoke in unison to Keith.
“…Isn’t your fiancée more important than your brother, Lilibelle?”
“W-well…!”
Surrounded by the three of them, all with sharp, piercing gazes, I panicked and pulled the blanket over my head.
(W-what is going on!? Did I make the wrong choice somewhere…!?)
At first, all three of them had been cold toward me. How things had turned out like this, I didn’t know—but now, all three had become exceedingly overprotective.
Luke, Roland, Keith. Each one treated me like a precious treasure every day.
(I just hope I’ve managed to avoid a fatal fate…!)
Caught in the whirlwind of their overprotectiveness, I fervently wished for a happy future that would continue forever.
Even so, compared to the early days, I could breathe much more easily now. Thinking back, the memories of my previous life two years ago were truly unbearable.
