“You’re… alive. You were alive after all.”
For ten years, I lived believing I had been abandoned by my family. By the time I realized it was all a misunderstanding, it was already too late.
“It has been revealed that you were a member of the Caelum Pirates! Raise your hands and surrender!”
Nereus, the captain of Caelum and the man who was a father to me, met his end right before my eyes at the hands of the Navy.
Even the Navy, the very organization I had remained loyal to until now, turned their blades against me for reasons unknown.
I had no intention of becoming a sacrificial lamb for their so-called ‘justice.’
And so, I chose death…
At least, I should have.
“Lara!”
When I opened my eyes, I had returned twenty years into the past.
“…Dad?”
A miracle had occurred.
* * *
Caelum will fall within twenty years.
All because of a single, unidentified spy.
To catch the spy—who must have been lurking aboard the ship for at least ten years—and protect my family, I need to secure enough influence and a high enough position to have a voice.
‘I can do something now, so it’s okay.’
With that resolve, I spoke triumphantly to Nereus.
“I’m going to be a doctor.”
“A doctor?”
“Yeah. A ship’s doctor. I’ll be the medic. That way, I can treat everyone when they’re sick.”
At the precocious declaration of a six-year-old, Nereus stared at me with wide eyes, and then…
“Ahahahaha—!!!”
He burst into a boisterous laugh.
…….
That damn man.
Is anything gonna post?
Sounds fun to read!
