Summary
Returnee VS Possessor
God hates me.
Otherwise, I wouldn’t have had everything taken away to this extent.
When I finally found an abandoned mine that was said to have magical energy flowing through it:
“Oh my, how unfortunate. A high-ranking person made the exact same proposal yesterday.”
The day before I could place a deposit, someone beat me to it.
When I created a hunter’s guild by feeding and housing the homeless:
“We want to try advancing in life, too. We’ll repay your kindness in the next life.”
A noble family took them away by offering them a large sum of money and promising knighthood.
Still, I didn’t give up.
I was going to spend all my remaining wealth to buy a painting.
“You have a good eye. Will the empire’s citizens think so too?”
“I’ll make sure they do.”
But right before finalizing the contract, the artist unilaterally broke our agreement.
A life of misfortune where everything failed.
At the moment I reached the end, that woman appeared.
“When I was confused about the details, I just watched your moves. And in the final moment, I was just a little faster.”
The one person who stole all my plans, Grace Servais.
“The person I used as a benchmark was you all along, Iris.”
She was a possessor.
*************************
After fighting and getting entangled with her, I returned to when I was eighteen.
With all my memories intact.
“I see. So that’s how it was.”
I muttered to myself while standing in front of the mirror.
“I really did have everything, didn’t I?”
Grace, now I understand, just a little bit, why you were so confident.
Knowing the world’s secrets truly was a powerful weapon.
