Summary
Ha Jo-yeong, born illegitimate to the wealthy Ha clan, is a descendant of the Taegyeongbu clan. Born with ancestral supernatural powers, she endures daily oppression by her half-siblings. She even manages to be sold into marriage through her half-brother’s scheme. However, a sudden assassination threatens her life. Just when she believes she will die, the lord of Bisanseong, Kang Yeon-ho, appears before her. “I’m a little late. I should have come sooner. Are you hurt?” He somehow mistakenly thinks she’s a princess, and so Jo-yeong decides to pretend to be one, just for a moment, to ensure her own safety. However, as time passes at Bisanseong, her feelings for Kang Yeon-ho deepen. Ultimately, she concludes, “It’s best we don’t meet again. When we do, I might have to kill you with my own hands.” The butterfly, having briefly flown through the flower garden, returns to the dirt with both wings bitten off.
