Chapter 10

‘Maybe this is a chance.’

The heart I had barely tried to give up started burning again.

Perelian made a firm decision that this time, he would never miss the chance to express his feelings.

‘It’s different from three years ago. A lot has changed. Maybe your feelings, Amy…’

He was no longer the awkward and timid boy he used to be.

So he would not do something foolish like confessing right after her breakup.

‘Let’s make a plan.’

To capture Amy’s heart, he needed to slowly change her perception of him.

From a friend… to a man.

A few days later, I headed to the tailor shop to keep my promise to Perelian.

On the way there, I happened to see my reflection in the carriage window.

Soft dirty-blonde hair with a golden tone, and green eyes like fresh spring sprouts.

Maybe because of my past life memories, it still felt hard to believe this face was me.

My hand unconsciously reached toward the glass, then stopped before touching it and pulled back.

‘Before, I used to think Andrew didn’t like me because of this ordinary face.’

But not anymore.

‘Ordinary? No way!’

Compared to the main characters, I was simply more understated, but still clearly beautiful.

Calling myself pretty felt a little embarrassing. I never thought I’d have such a day.

A small laugh escaped me.

‘Back when I only looked at Andrew, I never would’ve thought like this.’

Andrew had always been the best nobleman to me. And I always felt like I was far inferior to him.

I never had the space to think beyond that.

‘I ignored all his flaws, but I only saw my own as weaknesses.’

A life where I was used to putting myself down.

It had gone so far that I couldn’t change it on my own.

‘If I hadn’t recovered my past life memories, I would probably still be following the original story.’

I would likely still be writing long letters to Andrew.

But that was fine. I had escaped the original fate.

‘Yes, that’s enough.’

I comforted myself with that thought.

Soon, the carriage stopped. We had arrived at the tailor shop.

“Amy, welcome. I’ve been waiting for you.”

As I got off the carriage, Perelian greeted me with a bright smile.

I glanced at the clock. We weren’t late, but I still felt slightly worried.

“Sorry, did you wait long?”

“No. I just arrived too. Shall we go in?”

“Yes, let’s.”

I followed Perelian inside the shop.

It seemed he had made a reservation in advance, as the staff greeted us immediately.

“Welcome, Young Lord of Sirmal.”

Perelian smiled and answered while looking at me.

“Please guide my companion as well, Lady Nella.”

“Yes, right this way, both of you.”

The staff guided us inside smoothly.

Walking down the hallway, I fell into thought.

‘I haven’t been to a place like this in a while.’

I hadn’t attended many formal events recently.

So I usually just ordered custom clothes instead of visiting shops directly.

“Sit here, Amy.”

We arrived at a private room and sat across from each other in soft chairs.

A thick catalog was placed in front of us.

“Since the young lord requested formal outfits for a banquet, we brought men’s clothing catalogs first. If Lady Nella also wishes to order a dress, please feel free to call us anytime.”

Most tailor shops specialized in either men’s or women’s clothing.

But this one was the largest in the capital, so it served everyone.

‘I’m not planning to order anything right now…’

I needed capital to start my business.

I planned to use my allowance for that.

Unfortunately, I had already spent most of the savings I had from my engagement with Andrew, so I needed to be careful.

‘I still have that dress I bought for a tea party years ago… I never wore it because Andrew said he didn’t like the color.’

That should be enough for now.

I slowly flipped through the catalog.

‘There are a lot of nice designs.’

Perelian, sitting across from me, asked.

“Amy, how about this shirt?”

He showed me a white shirt with frill decorations around the neck.

Simple, clean, and not overly decorated—it suited him well.

“It looks good. But if you wear that, a cravat would suit it better than a tie or bow tie…”

At my mutter, he smiled.

“Then you pick the cravat for me, Amy.”

At that moment, a staff member brought a large box.

Inside were many cravats in different colors, patterns, and fabrics.

“This one would suit you.”

I picked one and held it against his neck.

He slightly widened his eyes.

“!”

“It’s soft fabric, and without patterns it looks even cleaner.”

The staff nodded.

“Lady Nella is correct. It is made from the highest quality silk of this year.”

“See?”

I smiled and asked him.

He hesitated for a moment.

“Why purple? You usually like green, don’t you?”

“That’s true. But this purple… it matches your eye color. It suits you well.”

“…Oh, really?”

His eyes sparkled for a moment.

“Alright. If it’s something you chose, Amy, I trust it. I’ll take this.”

“Good. Oh, I’ll pick your jacket and pants too.”

I decided to choose everything for him from head to toe.

He didn’t seem very confident in choosing things himself.

“The jacket should have gold embroidery, like a uniform. White like the shirt. And the pants… black would be good to balance the upper design.”

After also choosing shoes and gloves, quite some time had passed.

Perelian smiled brightly.

“Thank you. I’m glad I asked you, Amy.”

“I’m glad I could help, Perelian.”

Now that we were done, I thought we could return to the mansion.

But then Perelian suddenly spoke.

“If it’s okay, can I choose your dress too?”

“Eh?”

I panicked and didn’t know what to answer.

“Th-that might be a bit…”

He looked slightly disappointed.

“Is my taste not trustworthy?”

“No, that’s not it! I just… planned to wear something I already own to this banquet.”

At my hurried explanation, his expression returned to normal.

“Really? That’s a relief. If that’s the case, I don’t mind. I’d still like to gift you a dress I choose. You can wear it anytime, not just the banquet. I hope you don’t refuse.”

Then he added carefully.

“As for my taste… I may not be confident in my own clothes, but I am confident in what suits you.”

“R-really?”

“Of course. Trust me.”

In the end, I couldn’t win against his insistence and sat back down.

He quickly flipped through the new dress catalog.

He looked even more focused than when choosing his own clothes.

“Amy, how about this dress?”

“This is…”

“Yes. A deep green dress you like. I knew it was yours at first glance.”

I couldn’t take my eyes off the design.

‘At first glance, it felt like it was mine…’

I wondered what he was thinking when he chose it.

Then he added with a smile.

“And like you told me earlier, this dress also matches your eye color. It’s beautifully fresh.”

“…!”

Only then did I understand why his eyes had sparkled earlier.

What it meant when someone looked at my eyes and said something like that.

‘It’s a little embarrassing… but not unpleasant.’
