Chapter 11
The long, black fabric swayed fluidly with each step.
“I’ll cover my eyes with this.”
“What?”
“It might make you feel less burdened if I can’t see.”
Edith’s lips parted, unable to reply.
As she stood flustered, Denok unhesitatingly picked up the cloth. The black fabric covered his eyes, leaving only his sharp nose and firmly set mouth visible.
In that state, he extended a hand.
“Would you take my hand? I can’t see where you are.”
Edith held her breath.
This was… consideration.
To ease her tension by obscuring his gaze.
“……”
Edith slowly took his hand.
Perhaps it was because his eyes behind the black cloth were hidden, but she felt less embarrassed than before.
His touch, too, no longer felt entirely unfamiliar.
As Edith took a step forward, Denok followed without resistance.
Once again, the two lay down on the bed.
Though their positions were similar to before, the air between them was distinctly different.
When Denok’s hand touched her slip, Edith instinctively tensed, but then his other hand gently intertwined with her fingers.
“Don’t worry. If you don’t want it, I’ll stop immediately.”
He whispered that she should hold his hand whenever she wished for him to stop.
Edith tightened her loosely held fingers and nodded.
Soon, the slip slowly slid up over her skin.
A cool breeze brushed against her exposed skin, but a warm palm soon caressed it.
At the same time, his dark hair brushed against Edith’s skin as it fell.
Edith quietly inhaled at the ticklish sensation on her skin.
“I’ll go slowly.”
“……Yes.”
The first kiss was soft and slow, as if to comfort Edith.
A gentle warmth spread, starting from her chest, tracing around her navel, and slowly descending to a deeper place.
Each time his lips touched the skin usually hidden beneath her dress, a sigh-like warmth escaped through Edith’s teeth.
She had asked him for only one thing.
To leave a deep, vivid mark in a place that Rachel couldn’t suspect, even if she looked closely.
As Edith’s body slowly lost strength, Denok briefly lifted his head.
“May I go lower now?”
She hesitated for a moment, then nodded.
And his head slowly descended.
‘This is too much…’
Edith bit her lip tightly.
A sight too overwhelming to meet her eyes was unfolding before her.
Her entire body felt as if it were burning with embarrassment, but thankfully, his eyes were firmly covered.
Even though he clearly couldn’t see, he lowered his head directly, as if he knew exactly where he needed to go.
“Hup…!”
Edith quickly bit down on her lip.
A faintly echoing sensation and a flower blooming where his lips had departed.
Just like the crimson blooming flower, a brand-like heat was etched deep within Edith’s body.
Edith knew that to truly deceive Rachel, she would have to endure more of this fiery, hot stimulation.
She ultimately had to cling to the sheet, her face tearful.
It was an immense relief that his eyes were covered at this moment. She absolutely couldn’t let him see her like this.
He continued to kiss her slowly but persistently, and just as Edith endured the escalating heat, unable to release it anywhere…
“Aagh!”
Like an electric current, a sensation pierced through her entire body.
Edith’s eyes widened, and she violently twisted her waist, pulling herself away from him.
‘Th-that just now…’
His intended destination had been missed.
It must have been a mistake because he couldn’t see, but the sensation was so vivid that Edith’s heart pounded.
That’s when it happened.
“……Did I make a mistake?”
Denok, who had been silently continuing his work, cautiously asked.
His movements, frozen and unsure…
He seemed utterly oblivious to what had just happened.
‘Perhaps, he doesn’t know much about women?’
Indeed, now that she thought about it, he was tormented by magical pain every night; he couldn’t possibly have had the leisure to be with anyone.
Especially after living a reclusive life since childhood.
‘It’s better to pretend I don’t know and move on.’
Edith, who had been breathing heavily, calmly cleared her throat.
“No, that… I think this much is enough. I can’t hear any more signs of people outside…”
She glanced at the door, but there was no sound.
Only the hurried breaths of the two of them filled the room.
“I see.”
Edith replied calmly and watched Denok rise, then slowly approached him.
“Now, I’ll kiss you.”
A kiss to calm his magic.
She felt less embarrassed doing this herself.
Edith looked at his lips, which were quietly taking breaths beneath the black cloth, then slowly raised her hand and caressed his cheek.
It was so embarrassing to recall what had just happened.
‘This is purely out of necessity.’
Their lips met lightly and softly.
As their breaths mingled, the scent of the sea once again flowed into her.
When his magic obediently calmed down, following her will, he awkwardly opened and closed his hands repeatedly.
“It’s strange… This calm magic feels so unfamiliar.”
Last time, the situation had been too chaotic.
This was the first time he had consciously felt this sensation.
Denok said he would go wash up and headed to his room, and I too went into the bathroom to quickly wash myself.
Fortunately, there was a shower gown inside, so the misfortune of going out in the same attire as before didn’t happen.
However, I couldn’t hide my flushed face, so I had to repeat to myself countless times that I was fine before I could step out.
When I had cooled down and returned to the room, a knock sounded, and he appeared.
This time, he was dressed in a tunic suitable for indoor wear.
His still-damp hair clung in strands, clearly revealing the features usually hidden beneath it.
“I’ll turn off the light.”
He spoke softly and turned off the room light, plunging the subtly orange-hued room into darkness instantly.
Instead, moonlight streamed through the window, casting a bluish glow on his face.
I swallowed hard and lay down, and then, suddenly, the mattress beside me dipped.
An unfamiliar warmth settled beside me.
After a moment’s hesitation, I spoke to him.
“……Good night.”
“Yes, have a good night.”
As soon as he finished speaking, we both turned in opposite directions, and I rested my head on the edge of the pillow.
But even though we had turned away, his large body meant that our backs occasionally touched, which was unavoidable.
Each time the unfamiliar warmth and light brush occurred, the memory of earlier resurfaced, making my heart drop.
“……”
“……”
My utterly exhausted body finally succumbed to fatigue. As my eyelids, heavy as stones, closed, my consciousness blurred and was swept away into darkness.
The tension that had filled the air subsided with slow breaths.
As the two fell into a deep sleep, a shadow clinging precariously near the steeply sloped roof, like a sheer cliff, stirred.
