Chapter 100
“Are you going to perform dimensional travel?”
I didn’t expect it to be possible right now. Elezia tried to hide her surprise at the sudden status window.
“Miss, is there a problem?”
“Ah, well…”
Elezia slowly turned to Finn. As if a question had just come to mind, she asked as naturally as possible.
“This is said to be a relic with the ability to transport. Do you know where it would take me?”
“Hmm…”
Finn furrowed his brows, as if recalling exact information, and spoke slowly.
“Like most relics, it depends on the user’s capability. I suppose this bracelet might connect to a dimension related to the user. Since it’s a relic, most opinions suggest it won’t transport you to a dangerous place.”
‘A dimension most related to the user?’
Then, naturally, for Elezia, it would be her original home—Earth!
Her heart began racing. She tried to hide her excitement and asked further.
“Earlier, you said no one could use this relic’s ‘transport ability,’ right?”
“That’s correct.”
“That’s a bit strange.”
Elezia carefully chose her words.
“Couldn’t it be activated even with high divine power? Now that the Saint has descended, perhaps the Saint could use it?”
“That might be possible.”
Finn nodded as if it made sense.
“The Saint hasn’t touched this relic yet, so we haven’t confirmed it, but it could be different for the Saint.”
“I see.”
Handling a relic that no one could use seemed like a very important task. So, perhaps even Prilien in the temple would have wanted to try it at least once.
But, in the original story and even now, why had Prilien never approached the “Tower relic”? It was almost surprising how low-priority it had been. Perhaps there was little need to use its “transport ability.”
“And… according to the most detailed paper on this relic’s ‘transport ability,’ it seems it’s not a relic whose function varies proportionally with divine power.”
“A paper?”
“Yes.” Finn glanced at Elezia as if recalling something, adding,
“This is the opinion of your mother, the Duchess Semperion.”
“…!”
‘What?’
Elezia did not expect that name. Could it be that the Duchess had researched relics for the Tower?
“She was actually the first to discover this relic. She was also the one who delivered it to the Tower.”
“….”
Elezia looked at the bracelet with a complex expression. Was it a coincidence that the discoverer of the bracelet was her mother, and now Elezia could use it? Or was it simply because she had a status window as a possessed person?
Elezia fell into thought for a moment before cautiously speaking to Finn.
“Could I… be alone for a bit?”
“…Yes.”
Finn nodded slightly, as if he understood, and stepped back.
“Call me anytime if you need anything. I’ll be at the door.”
“Thank you.”
Grateful for his consideration, Elezia gave a faint smile. Once Finn left the relic storage room, she lifted her head again.
Conditions met.
Do you want to attempt dimensional travel?
-
Yes
-
No
The notification window still floated in front of her.
‘Is it really okay to choose this?’
At first, she had felt a little scared and hesitant. But the more Finn explained, the more she felt it would be fine.
It was speculated that it would transport her to a dimension related to the user. And since it’s a relic, the likelihood of being sent somewhere dangerous was low.
‘Then it’s worth trying, right?’
The only concern was that using the relic on her own might trigger the Tower’s internal security systems…
‘Well, it should be fine somehow.’
If she succeeded, she would already be home. There was no need to worry about what happens afterward in the game. Besides, she wouldn’t physically touch it, so maybe even alarms wouldn’t go off.
‘When did I become such a coward?’
She had planned to sell all her gems and go home on the first day—she shouldn’t forget her original determination. Any errors or dangers would first trigger alerts in her status window anyway. After all, she had prevented the game from going off-track even once before.
Having made up her mind, Elezia immediately pressed “Yes.”
Flash!
A bright light enveloped her simultaneously.
“Please let me go home. And if possible… let my memories return too…”
Elezia clasped her hands together and prayed. She could feel the light slowly fading behind her closed eyelids.
Soon, it wasn’t the dim basement lighting, but bright sunlight she felt. A gentle breeze brushed her eyes, and she could even smell the warm, fresh scent of trees.
“…Where am I?”
As Elezia slowly opened her eyes, she saw a small room—a cozy, tiny attic. Outside the window, green forest stretched endlessly.
“Earth?”
Perhaps a small cabin somewhere abroad? It definitely didn’t match any scenes from Lady Marigold or the Seiros Saga.
Still, there were problems. She had no phone, so she had no way of knowing exactly where she was in the forest. And the second problem was:
“Elezia… it’s you.”
Even if she went home like this, how would she explain it to anyone? And she didn’t even have her memories. As she looked around the room, she noticed her status window was still floating.
Time remaining until return:
00:29:26
Return now?
-
Yes
-
No
“…There’s a time limit, huh.”
Once time ran out, it seemed she would be forcibly returned.
‘Lame.’
With such a short time, she could only take a quick look around. Elezia sighed and stepped forward. She needed to gather as much information about this space as she could before returning.
In front of her were a small, cute sofa and toys scattered across the floor, seemingly used by a child. The walls had various scribbles. One read:
E. was here.
“…?”
Had someone else been here, or was this from the previous resident?
Climbing down the ladder, she saw novels suitable for adults, a chair, a desk, and a small table for cooking. Between the books, she found notes tucked in.
Letter, double record. This place is not entirely safe.
“…They could at least write more clearly.”
Even so, knowing this place wasn’t entirely safe was useful. Elezia stepped outside cautiously. Perhaps someone had practiced swordplay here—dolls for sword practice were scattered outside.
‘Some of this… doesn’t look like swordplay. Maybe magic?’
The realization sent chills down her spine. If this were truly Earth, there shouldn’t be traces of magic.
…Then again, practicing swordplay here was odd too. Civilians would probably use guns or self-defense items in this era. So this place must be:
‘Somewhere a person from Lemegol visits often—or still part of that world!’
Elezia lifted her head and ran toward the forest in front of her. Initially, she had thought it might be just a foreign country, but now it was clear. The distinct leaf shapes, beautiful scenery, and unbelievably peaceful atmosphere—
‘The Enderi Forest!’
The forest at the far end of the Seiros Saga map. The terrain was similar.
However, since Lady Marigold and Seiros Saga had similar settings, she needed to check whether this corresponded to Lemegol or Seiros Saga.
Running quickly, she suddenly collided with something and stopped.
‘A wall…?’
An invisible, transparent wall blocked her. The space resisted strongly, as if warning her not to go further.
Beyond the wall was an extremely familiar scene—the landscape she knew all too well.
…the Seiros Saga landscape.
“Is this… Seiros Saga?”
She hadn’t expected the dimensional travel to take her not to Earth, but to Seiros Saga. Elezia stood still, dumbfounded.
Countless monsters flew beyond the wall. All were from Seiros Saga, but far more numerous than in the game.
Below were buildings half-ruined, likely attacked decades ago. The destroyed scenery looked ancient—if all players died and civilization collapsed in Seiros Saga, this is probably how it would appear.
Fortunately, the monsters couldn’t cross the ‘wall’ she had collided with, so the cabin still remained.
Perhaps it was the last safe haven.
The ruined scene of the game wasn’t pleasant to see. Elezia was about to press the return button when suddenly:
Kyaaa!
A monster beyond the wall lunged at her.
Bang.
It wasn’t a collision with the wall. Elezia dodged, and the monster slammed its head into the ground. She looked at it in surprise.
“Did it… pass through the wall?”
She had assumed the wall would stop them—but apparently not. A note flashed through her mind:
This place is not entirely safe.
Simultaneously, the noisy monsters turned their heads toward her.
Kyaaa!
“No, this is…!”
I can’t go, but they can come here? That’s not fair!
With an annoyed expression, Elezia summoned her inventory. The sword she had stored earlier appeared naturally in her hand.
Before the monster on the ground could lift its head, she swiftly decapitated it, then aimed at the next monsters charging at her.
Bang bang bang.
The monsters’ heads flew off at once. Elezia turned her stiff face. That attack hadn’t been hers.
“…You need to stay further away.”
The voice came from someone who had approached her. Elezia looked at them and let out a bitter laugh.
“Huh…?”
They had said they’d wait at the door, yet somehow made it here. Of course, there was only one possible answer. She asked Finn:
“So… you can use the relic?”
“….”
