Chapter 17

Eleanor flinched in surprise and looked at Renatus, but he met her gaze calmly, without the slightest hint of embarrassment.

That composure only made her feel oddly self-conscious, as if she were the strange one for reacting this way.

For a moment, she could do nothing but stare at him. Sharing the same sensation as Eleanor, the corner of his lips tilted upward slightly.

Just as Eleanor thought he would lean in to kiss her, a ticklish sensation suddenly crept along her neck, making her body shudder.

Instead of kissing her lips, he held the nape of her neck and teased it for quite a while, as though nibbling and sucking. Unlike when their lips met, there was nothing wet or messy about it.

Instead, it felt like somewhere much lower was growing damp.

By the time Eleanor realized this, her face had turned even redder. At that moment, Renatus bared his teeth and bit into her neck.

At the unfamiliar pain, Eleanor let out a short gasp and clung to him.

“Why…?”

It sounded like she was asking why he was doing this, or perhaps why she wasn’t feeling only pain in a moment like this.

But neither question found an answer. Instead, the sensations only deepened. Renatus held onto her neck for a long time, refusing to let go. Though the overstimulating ticklishness made it hard for her to endure, she couldn’t understand why he was so fixated on such delicate skin.

“You said we should make it certain.”

After a while, Renatus replied in a low, husky voice.

Eleanor still didn’t understand, but seeing her like that, Renatus wore a rather satisfied expression and pressed his lips to her again.

“You’ll understand what it means tomorrow morning.”

Just as those incomprehensible words reached her again, he slipped the strap of her slip down her shoulder and grasped the pale skin hidden beneath.

His touch was firmer than she expected, making Eleanor gasp and momentarily hold her breath. Slowly, his fingers moved upward, gently brushing the most sensitive spot.

“W-wait a moment.”

Eleanor hurriedly tried to stop him. Since his face was still buried against her neck, the only thing she could do was grab his hair.

Wasn’t this getting far too intimate between them? That thought made her hesitate, but then she realized what they were actually doing and let out a helpless laugh.

“Ah!”

She had dug her own grave. Renatus clearly took her reaction as encouragement.

The pressure at the peak grew more precise and intense.

Unable to endure it any longer, Eleanor twisted her legs, trying to release the overwhelming sensation, but each time, Renatus’s leg blocked her.

She felt as though her body was becoming strange. She couldn’t understand why he would go through all this instead of simply joining their bodies from the start.

Ashamed and unable to bear the unfamiliar sensations, Eleanor pleaded.

“Not this… just, right away…”

“So you won’t get hurt.”

His voice came immediately—gentle yet firm.

Before she could fully understand his words, her legs were parted.

Feeling the presence between them, Eleanor looked at Renatus in shock.

He smiled playfully, as if insisting that there was nothing strange about this situation.

But Eleanor knew it was not something that could simply be brushed off. No matter how inexperienced she was, this was beyond anything she could have imagined.

Her gaze instinctively dropped downward, but at that moment, she felt him slowly brushing between her thighs.

The light, grazing touch heightened her sensitivity. It was as if her body was already reacting in anticipation.

Now, she found it difficult to endure for an entirely different reason.

Without realizing it, she grabbed the hand resting below her collarbone. In response, he slowly lifted his hand and cupped her cheek.

As Eleanor looked at him with anxious eyes, Renatus suddenly leaned in and kissed her.

At the same time, he slowly pushed in. A cry of pain escaped Eleanor’s lips, but it was swallowed entirely between their joined mouths.

She groaned softly, lifting her chin. Renatus pressed lingering kisses along the pale neck revealed before him as he moved deeper.

“Ah…”

Eleanor hurriedly clung to his shoulders. Her nails dug into him as she tried to endure the pain. That sensation brought a strange kind of pleasure to Renatus.

He, too, tensed his jaw—not because of her nails, but because of how tight it felt. It made it difficult for him to move, leaving him in a dilemma.

If he moved as he wished, it would be too much for someone already struggling. But if he stayed still, it felt as though he might lose his mind.

Forcing himself to calm down, he took a deep breath and tried to act as gently as possible.

“Are you alright?”

His voice, tightly restrained, asked.

Eleanor hesitated before nodding. Deciding to trust her only halfway, Renatus moved forward just a little more—exactly half of what he had intended.

She inhaled sharply, her nails digging in even deeper.

As their bodies pressed closer together, Renatus felt an odd sense of satisfaction.

Even though he couldn’t move freely and should have felt frustrated… even this alone was enough.

Holding her waist, he began to move slowly. At first, he could feel Eleanor’s discomfort, but gradually, warmth began to mix into her reactions.

The place where they were joined, the sounds escaping her lips—once that silent permission was given, he began to move more as he wished.

“Wait, Your Highness. It’s too—”

Her words were cut off as he captured her lips again.

When their lips finally parted, Eleanor didn’t try to stop him this time. Instead, she broke into tears.

Renatus gently stroked her cheek as if to soothe her, even licking away her tears, but he did nothing to truly resolve the root of her discomfort. Rather, he seemed to want her to keep clinging to him like this.

The moment she realized that, Eleanor trembled and wrapped herself tightly around him. Renatus willingly embraced her, filling her completely.

Still catching her breath, Eleanor slowly came to her senses and belatedly noticed the warmth inside her. Startled, she asked,

“…Will you be alright?”

Renatus responded as if it were a strange question.

“You said we should make it certain.”

Then he slowly began to stroke her body again.

Her body, still trembling from the aftereffects, reacted sensitively, and Renatus found himself unwilling to stop just like this.

But Eleanor’s expression looked as though she had simply finished a task, with no expectation that anything more would follow.

Part of him wanted to fluster that expression, while another part told him he should stop here for today. The conflicting thoughts left him hesitating.

At that moment, Eleanor closed her eyes, exhausted, and Renatus decided to leave it at that. Tomorrow would be a busy day.

She had already spent so much effort just escaping to this place. Pushing her any further would not be wise.

Renatus slowly lifted himself from her and brought back a damp towel.

As he gently cleaned her disheveled body, Eleanor weakly opened her eyes and murmured,

“I’ll… do it myself.”

“Just lie down.”

Her expression was full of discomfort. No matter the situation, it was still the crown prince attending to her like this.

“But… I feel bad…”

“I wonder.”

Renatus murmured meaningfully without stopping his actions.

“I think that’s something I should be saying.”

If Eleanor were to see the state of her own body right now, she wouldn’t be able to say such things, even as a courtesy.

Silently swallowing those thoughts, Renatus continued taking care of her until she fell asleep.

“Ahhh!”

The next morning, it was Madame Pereto’s sharp scream that woke the two of them from their deep sleep.

Summary

My father had an affair with the Empress. I could endure that. At least until my sickly mother found out the truth… and until Father and the Empress began threatening her one after another. “I never thought she’d suddenly die. Your mother turned out to be such a fragile woman.” Before my mother’s cold body, the man I had to call Father spoke shamelessly. “I hope you don’t hate me too much for your parents’ issues. After all, we’re about to become family, aren’t we?” The Empress, who wanted to take me as her daughter-in-law, smiled as she spoke about creating a happy family. They’re all insane. And for madmen, the only fitting answer is a vengeance just as mad. “Please, marry me, Your Imperial Highness the Crown Prince.” This was the day before my marriage to the Empress’s son.
