Episode 05.

The fierce resistance had vanished. At some point, they were clinging to each other with desperate intensity.

Hee-jae had known the moment she fell into Gyo-bin’s arms—she would melt, just like before. She had always known.

“Even though I knew I shouldn’t get too involved with Shin Gyo-bin, my body kept craving him,” she admitted to herself.

It was true. She had been the one to confess first, the one to beg him for a single night. On the drunken night she had first fallen into his arms, she had instinctively known—escaping his trap would become much harder.

Their connection had become a source of intense, almost dangerous pleasure. For Hee-jae, it was laced with pain; for Gyo-bin, it was nothing but bliss—making him even more addicted to her.

She had tried to escape, cutting every tie—even betraying Shin Group and its chairman, Shin Hyung-gil—just to be free of him.

“Gyo-bin…” she whispered, trembling.

But her year-long flight had ended. And now, she was beneath him again—trapped in his grasp.

His hands moved with confident familiarity, as though no time had passed at all. He knew her body, every reaction, every weakness, as if it were yesterday.

“You’re still the same… still my favorite place,” he murmured, almost teasing.

Hee-jae trembled, unsure whether she wanted to push him away—or cling to him even tighter.

“You’re doing this on purpose, aren’t you?” he asked, eyes gleaming.

“N-no… I’m not…” she replied, shaking her head, tears forming.

She tried to look away, but he caught her chin, forcing her to meet his gaze. In his eyes, there was a faint, dangerous glimmer of madness.

“This face… I came back just to see it again,” he whispered, smiling faintly.

“If you didn’t want this… you shouldn’t have crawled back to me.”

His voice was soft—tender, almost—yet the intent behind it was unrelenting, leaving her trembling with conflicting emotions.

“What if you forget me again?” he murmured, touching her cheek, his tone mockingly sweet. “That would hurt my feelings.”

Gyobin leaned closer into Heejae’s embrace, trying to find a more comfortable position before his movements grew more intense.

“Please… Gyobin…”

He wanted to go slowly, but his instincts overwhelmed his self-control.

“Heejae, do you still love me?”

Even as he tried to force out the answer he longed for, Heejae resisted. He would not fall for Gyobin’s manipulative tricks again.

“…No. I hate you. I despise you!”

Although his body trembled as if surrendering, his mind stayed clear. He could not return to being someone else’s plaything. The determination to push Gyobin away was carved deep in his heart.

She had to do it.
Although her instincts quickly surrendered in front of Shin Kyobin, she repeated to herself that she must resist, whispering “no” again and again to maintain her reason.

“I swore I’d never get entangled with someone like you again… not even if it killed me.”

The bitterness in her heart had taken root deeply.
Choi Hee-jae was no longer the naive girl from her early twenties.

Kyobin sighed, brushing back his damp hair, and leaned closer until their faces were nearly touching.

“Are you doing this on purpose? Using your head like that…?”

Hee-jae shook her head slowly, her eyes widening in shock.
But Kyobin smiled with dangerous fondness.

“You know what that makes me want to do to you.”

Despite herself, she trembled. She wanted to hate him, to push him away. But her body betrayed her, clinging to him even as her lips refused to say the words he wanted to hear.

“You really know how to drive me crazy.”

That night, the boundary between love and hate blurred completely. What she despised most—perhaps even more than Kyobin—was the weakness of her own body, which yielded to him no matter how much her mind resisted.

Summary

Dirty blood, a birth that would never be welcomed.
Life was vulgar and painful for Shin Gyo-bin, born from an affair.

That was until he met Choi Hee-jae,
the gentle person who would show him kindness down to his very core.

“Did you have a nightmare? Should I stay by your side until you fall asleep?”

It was an innocent first love. And so, he clung to it as hope.
But the moment Hee-jae left his side,
that lantern of hope transformed into an obsession.

“I told you not to play tricks, Hee-jae.”
“Do you know what I had to do just to bring you back?”

Warmth faded from Hee-jae’s eyes, replaced by anger.
Thus began a fateful relationship steeped in misfortune.

“You know I’ve always done things my way.
I don’t need anything else—as long as I have you.”

Hate me thoroughly.
Despise me so deeply that it makes you tremble.
Our love and hate—that’s what will define us.
