Synopsis
Illina, the daughter of the prestigious Duke Revan family—respected throughout the Empire and blessed with wealth and honor—marries Blake, the second son of an insignificant noble house and her longtime friend. She even becomes pregnant with his child.
“I’ll love you forever. Until the very moment I close my eyes.”
But the “forever” he promised was cruelly short-lived.
Under the leadership of her husband Blake, Illina’s father and older brother lose their lives.
Blake earns the title of Marquis for exposing her family as traitors to the Empire.
Then Illina learns of the death of her unborn child as well.
Her husband demeaned their baby as “the filthy bloodline of traitors,” and Illina realizes that the only way to survive is to leave him.
“Divorce me.”
Choosing separation from the man she once loved in order to stay alive, Illina believes she can finally escape his cruelty.
But three years later, Blake’s older brother appears before her and urges her to seek revenge.
“The truth is… the child you gave birth to was alive. Your husband killed that child himself. A living child.”
The truth delivered by the maid who had stayed by her side for years—and by Blake’s brother—ignites the flames of vengeance in Illina’s nearly lifeless heart.
“What you want is for that trophy to quietly return home, isn’t it?”
“That’s right.”
“Then I’ll go. Just as you wish. I’ll live as Marchioness Illina Blair.”
Even if she must cloak herself in lies, she will willingly return.
To carry out the most perfect revenge.
To drag him into hell.
