Right now, I want to SCREAM at the top of my lungs.
That I will step up, and I will handle this myself!
So…
“STOP GIVING THEM SUCH TRASHY SONGS!”
Today was the release day for the sixth single album of the five-member boy group, Impacter.
The reason they dropped a pitiful two-track album was clear as day. It was a blatant declaration of war—a giant middle finger telling us they were going to milk the fans dry through endless fan sign events yet again.
The music video, scheduled for exactly 6:00 PM, wasn’t uploaded until 27 whole minutes later.
Was I genuinely the only one waiting for it? The comment section was unbelievably dead.
Not a single person was even mad.
Hell, just last album, we were on our knees thanking the heavens they even had a comeback.
Right now, I could literally cry out of sheer pity for the members forced to sing these dirt-cheap lyrics.
If this was the best you could do, you should have at least read my emails, YOU DAMN AGENCY!

My emails, which started out perfectly normal…
[Free Song Distribution for Impacter _ Composer SW (Demo Attached)]
A few months later, I changed the subjects to “Free Distribution.”
[♨️What is this week’s lucky Zodiac sign?♨️]
Eventually, I sank to clickbait tactics worse than cheap spam mail.
The most infuriating part? Those bastards actually read the last two emails.
But of course, they couldn’t even be bothered to click on the attached demo files.
“If they had, they would NEVER have released a song like this.”

Meanwhile, my inbox was practically exploding with requests from agencies.
I am the highly successful composer ‘SW,’ someone who can cherry-pick the projects he wants to work on. That’s me, Yoo Sung-woo.
They say passion and talent rarely align, but I was lucky. I was exceptionally good at what I loved doing.
But there was only one thing I hadn’t been able to achieve…
Impacter.
A five-member boy group that debuted 3 years ago. They were named by adding er to the word Impact, reflecting their ambition to become a group with a powerful impact on the music scene.
Having debuted through a survival show produced by their agency, they garnered massive attention early on. Great visuals, rookie passion, and a compelling underdog storyline.
But Impacter’s fall from grace was instantaneous.
When an old mixtape surfaced belonging to producer and group member Go Jae-sung, in which he blatantly dissed a famous male idol, Impacter faced fierce, unrelenting backlash from that idol’s massive fandom.
Yeah.
Go Jae-sung was basically a machine designed to attack and criticize everyone. He also targeted a famous female idol, writing arrogant lyrics as if he could take his pick and date any member he wanted, despite not even knowing them.
On top of that, he made ignorant remarks bordering on racism, infuriating international K-pop fans and sending them into a boiling rage.
If they were complete nobodies, the issue might have been quietly forgotten. But thanks to the survival show, public interest in them was high, putting them right in the crosshairs.
Then, a plagiarism controversy regarding their debut song surfaced belatedly, plunging them straight into the swamp of failed groups in the blink of an eye.
Of course, there were a few remaining fans, but even they washed their hands of the group due to the agency’s illogical actions and blatant shielding of the problematic member.
As if engaging in a stubborn war of pride with the fans, the agency made Go Jae-sung the center for the next album, sealing Impacter’s fate as a miserable failure.

Does this damn agency not know any other way to make money besides fan sign events?! They only promoted for two weeks, yet they’re still holding fan signs for an album released two months ago!
“We meet again?”
By now, the only people left were the fossilized veteran fans who had stayed so long they were practically rotting.
I set up my camera out of habit.
The moment I pointed the lens at my ultimate bias, Kang E-yul, he broke into a wide smile and waved his hand.
What a tragic waste of a life.
Despite my frequent attendance, the very first thought that crosses my mind every time is:
“Sung-woo hyung, you came today too?”
“I feel like I see you every single day!”
“Thank you so much for your huge support during these promotions too!”
“Wow, this is genuinely touching.”
“Hello.”
The one who just nods his head instead of speaking…
“…….”
The second thought that crosses my mind every time is: Why the hell do I have to spend the exact same amount of time with every member at a fan sign?!
I genuinely have nothing to say to this punk.
‘Why would a guy pay money to come see another guy?’
True to his nature as a womanizer, he had seen me at least dozens of times, yet he still hadn’t memorized my name!
The security guard standing behind him whispered my name in a low tone.
“Ah~ Sun-woo? Nice to meet you, Sun-woo hyung!”
‘Fine, whatever.’
“I listened to the demo you uploaded on social media this time.”
“……And what did you think?”
What did I think? It was so repulsive I had to turn it off halfway through!
“Hmm, how about toning down the autotune a bit?”
“Man, you don’t know a damn thing. That’s the vibe, don’t you see?”
It was a song so packed with robotic sounds that I wouldn’t be surprised if you told me an AI produced it!
“And anyway, what would Mr. Sung-ho know about composing?”
‘It’s SUNG-WOO, you goldfish-brained idiot!’
“Kyaa—our big bro SW is an absolute legend.”
I felt nauseous. If I hadn’t been holding myself back, I would have told him right then and there that I am SW, just to SHUT his blabbering mouth!
“Man, it would be a shame to waste an SW song on that.”
It would only be a waste on YOU, I barely swallowed the words.
“If it’s a song on bro SW’s level, it should definitely be MY solo track.”
Possessing zero self-awareness to this extent is a literal sin!
“Ah, ha, ha, that’s so true. See you later.”
“Your time isn’t up yet.”
I only heard the phrase ‘Please move to the next member’ after engaging in an agonizing staring contest with him, forcing myself to swallow my rage.
“Oh, it’s Sung-woo hyung!”
This boy is my ultimate bias, Kang E-yul.
‘I need to add hair serum to his birthday gift too.’
What crime did he commit against the CEO to be sentenced to life in prison with these cheap dye jobs?! Is being too handsome a crime?! It was the first fluorescent hair color I had seen since my childhood friend’s Maltese puppy, Bobby!
“Because it’s amazing every time I see you. You have a face that says we should be standing on stage together.”
Not only does he have that face, but he also has a heart of gold.
“How did you end up becoming a fan of ours?”
Especially since I had never even cared about female idols in my entire life.
“Aw come on, now you’re making me curious—!”
Anyway, I had already applied for next week’s fan sign. And since the day of the event fell exactly on E-yul’s birthday, I decided I would tell him when I handed over his birthday gift.
‘I was able to start writing songs again because of you.’
“WOW, ISN’T THIS WEATHER A BIT MUCH?!”
I don’t know if this damn agency just accepts every filler gig they’re offered, but they suddenly booked a local event in the countryside the day before Kang E-yul’s birthday.
BEEP!
Due to following Impacter around so much, I had given up on hiding my identity as a fan a long time ago.
“It’s unbearably hot…”
If I ran into someone complaining about seating arrangements today, we’d 100% end up at the police station.
After a torturous wait, the MC finally shouted.
“The global boy band leading the Hallyu wave! IMPACT!”
The only accurate part of that entire sentence was “boy band.” (They couldn’t even get the name ‘Impacter’ right).
“Hello, we are Impacter!”
I couldn’t bear the dead silence, so I risked the embarrassment and let out a scream.
“OUR SONG HAS THE LYRICS ‘BOOM, BOOM, BOOM, SHOT, SHOT, SHOT’! CAN WE SING IT TOGETHER?!”
The leader, Han Sang-yoon, didn’t give up and tried to hype up the crowd.
Truly, not just anyone can be an idol.
“BOOM, BOOM, BOOM, MY BEATING HEART AIMS ITS SHOTS AT YOU! SHOT, SHOT, SHOT!”
I didn’t care about anything else, but I couldn’t stand seeing my bias lose his spirit.
“BOOM, BOOM, BOOM! SHOT, SHOT, SHOT!”
Kang E-yul gave a thumbs-up right to my camera.
‘Because things will get better in the future.’
Although that rotten-apple bastard was ruining the entire dance formation.
If only he weren’t there.
Still, I had no regrets. Because every single stage was precious to me.
“Until now, we have been Impacter! THANK YOU!”
Now I had to drive another 4 hours back to the studio, finish working on the track as soon as I arrived, and grab maybe an hour or two of sleep before heading to Impacter’s next fan sign.
“Good lord, I feel like I have a busier schedule than the Impacter members themselves.”
“What, is it raining?”
“DAMN IT, I JUST WASHED MY CAR YESTERDAY!”
“Is it a rookie driver?”
It happened in a fraction of a second.
“……Huh?”
Behind the glaring light… I saw Kang E-yul’s face.
HOOONNNNKK—!!!
PLEASE—!
A van crushed beyond recognition, and shards of glass scattered all over the blood-stained ground.
“Ah… Ah…”
There was nothing more terrifying than that realization.
“……NO.”
If I had been crushed and buried into the earth beneath its weight, I wouldn’t have been surprised.
In the midst of my fading consciousness, I had no choice but to face the horrific truth.
