chapter 24
Yeon-ha stared at him in disbelief, as if his brazen, almost shameless response left her speechless. Her expression seemed to say, “What is this guy?”
“I like you.”
“Nam Do-hyun.”
Her pupils fluttered like leaves in the wind at his intense gaze.
“I’m not really one to say this myself, but I’m a decent guy. So don’t be scared.”
“When was I scared…?”
“Then take me. Take me.”
Without giving her a chance to refuse, he pressed forward with his confession. Seeing her hesitate, Do-hyun cupped her cheeks and claimed her lips.
Sip.
Startled, she gasped and lightly hit his shoulders with both hands.
He swallowed even her punches as if they meant nothing, kissing her upper and lower lips in turn. Her lips tasted so sweet, like soft pudding, that it made him shiver with delight.
Having tasted her lips greedily, Do-hyun tried to delve into her parted mouth but was stopped by her closed lips.
Without missing a beat, he skillfully moved the hands that held her cheeks down to her chin, tilting it downward. In an instant, her weak resistance crumbled under the weight of his fingers.
Do-hyun slid his long, plump tongue into the small opening.
Her mouth, quickly overtaken, was hot and moist as if it held its own fire.
Like a fish in water, he explored every corner of her mouth—raking her teeth, teasing sensitive membranes, licking as if tracing the ceiling’s texture, and greedily sucking as if starving for days.
Their mingled saliva seemed like honey water, and he swallowed eagerly, yet still thirsted for more, tilting his head to reach deeper.
“Hngh.”
Short of breath, her tiny fists tapped his shoulders again. Noticing her signal, he reluctantly pulled back, leaving a long, translucent string that snapped.
Haa… haa… haa…
Clinging to his jacket, she gasped for air. Through the hazy view, her swollen, bitten lips caught his eye.
Not even seconds had passed since their lips parted, but Do-hyun, feeling a burning thirst, lifted her chin as she panted.
Their eyes met as her head tilted back.
Her tightly packed eyelashes fluttered under the intensity of his gaze.
“I want to do it with you, Team Leader.”
Suppressing the urge to immediately push her onto the bed, he asked for her consent. He was confident she wouldn’t refuse if he did, but he didn’t want to let the night sweep them away in a single impulsive act.
It wouldn’t change anything—it wouldn’t be enough.
Though he felt satisfied from just kissing her, Do-hyun clenched his teeth and waited for her permission.
Did his earnestness get through?
Her pupils, which had flashed violently, steadied as if she had made up her mind. Yeon-ha wrapped her arms around his neck. The unspoken consent sent a jolt down his spine.
Do-hyun pulled her into a crushing embrace, unleashing a suffocatingly passionate kiss.
Unlike before, her lips opened willingly, and he plunged into her mouth. The girl who had previously tried to escape now entwined her tongue with his.
Knowing she wanted him too, Do-hyun lost himself entirely. Overwhelmed, her body leaned back.
“Ah!”
They toppled onto the bed, and he quickly supported her head just before it hit the mattress.
“Are you okay?”
She nodded with a smile, and he braced himself on his elbows to avoid putting weight on her.
“Why are you smiling?”
“You’re not acting like yourself, Do-hyun.”
She swallowed her laughter.
“How did I look to you, Team Leader?”
“Like someone skilled at everything?”
“I can’t restrain myself in front of you, strangely enough.”
“Then don’t. Not now.”
Those words became the catalyst for their bodies to fuse together. They clung to each other as if not a single moment apart, tongues tangled, bodies touching, burning hot.
Pale skin was adorned with red petals, unripe fruit ripened.
Do-hyun kissed his way down her flat stomach to her small, concave navel.
A dizzying valley unfolded before his eyes, and heat surged through him.
Biting his lips to control himself, his thin rationality quickly faltered. The exquisite heat was almost overwhelming.
Instinct whipped him forward.
As intense pleasure coursed down his spine, he surged like a car with broken brakes.
“…Do-hyun!”
Her body fluttered helplessly.
Tears hung from her lowered eyes, physiological in nature.
“Call me more. My name.”
“Do… Do-hyun… Do… Hyun!”
Each time she uttered his name, a thrilling shiver ran through him. Half-dazed, she called him desperately, as if it were a lifeline.
Seeing her so stunningly beautiful, Do-hyun felt a strong possessiveness.
He wanted no one else to look at her or hold her.
Ever.
In that moment, Do-hyun carved himself deeply into her.
He couldn’t open his eyes easily.
Raising his heavy eyelids, sunlight poured through the window.
It felt like he’d only closed his eyes for a moment, yet morning had already arrived.
Thankfully, it was the weekend; otherwise, he would have been late.
Staring at the ceiling, memories of last night played like a panorama—being tangled with Nam Do-hyun all night.
Her face flushed, and she quickly turned her head.
Fortunately, the side of the bed was empty. He must have gone home after she fell asleep.
A sigh of relief escaped her for avoiding an awkward morning.
“Ugh…”
As she tried to rise, her whole body ached.
Muscles she rarely used screamed in protest.
Nam Do-hyun didn’t know the meaning of “moderation.”
Even though she said stop, he didn’t let go, apologizing but refusing to relent.
She barely remembered how many times they had switched condoms.
By the time dawn broke, he had finished inside her, long and deep.
Exhausted to the point of collapse, she was glad that during those moments, nothing else came to mind—no work, no ambiguous office relationships, no unwanted memories.
If not for him, she probably wouldn’t have slept at all, trembling in fear through the night.
She was grateful he had rushed to her side when she called, and that he had chased away the drunk man.
Most of all, his warm embrace and comforting her had allowed her to recover quickly.
Strangely, hearing his voice calmed her anxious heart, making her breathing even out like magic.
Just like in that elevator.
Suddenly, Yeon-ha lifted her head.
The memory of his hands soothing her back, guiding her breathing calmly, the quiet yet deep woody scent—somehow it felt familiar.
“Could it be… the man in the elevator back then… was Do-hyun?”
Her pupils widened as she realized it.
Why hadn’t she known?
She had been in a panic, unable to see clearly because of the blackout, but how had she not guessed it was him?
She had thought his voice sounded familiar when they first met at the café, but she never imagined it was the man from the elevator.
After receiving emergency care, she had wanted to thank him, searching around, but when she learned he wasn’t a company employee, she gave up.
That’s why she never connected him with Do-hyun.
Had Do-hyun not known either?
That’s why he hadn’t acknowledged her?
Of course—if he had known, he would have.
Imagining how surprised she would be if she realized he was the one who saved her in the elevator made her laugh quietly.
A fleeting encounter had turned into a moment of shared warmth. It felt truly amazing.
At that moment, the bathroom door clicked open.
Stepping out of the steam, Nam Do-hyun appeared, only a towel around his waist, shaking his wet hair.
