Episode 29
“No….”
Saebyeok started to speak, flustered, but before she could finish, Hwang Taesan interrupted her.
“The old man personally had more adamantium, so instead of making just one, he made two. He said the cost will be billed separately, so be prepared.”
Then he handed her three keys.
The original <Anga Key>, which always emitted a dark red light giving off a mysterious, night-sea-like atmosphere, was the only one in existence.
The other two were copies. They looked identical to the original but were slightly larger and colored differently.
<Item: Anga Key Copy 1 (B)>
It is the key to a safehouse on <Server: Earth (S3-EH)>. It was made by copying the master key.
When worn, it allows access to <Atlas’ Safehouse>.
The owner of the safehouse must register the key for it to be usable.
Aside from slight differences in color and being labeled 1 and 2, the copies were identical.
Key 1 was black with a yellow tint, and key 2 was black with a blue tint.
“These are strange items. Is that earring really an item? The old man claims it is, but I see nothing.”
“You don’t see it? That’s the first time I’ve heard that.”
Saebyeok wore the original <Anga Key> on her ear and replied.
“If Hwang Hunter can’t see it, I guess most Awakened probably can’t either. The old man, having the title of Blacksmith, was probably able to discern it.”
Even the old man couldn’t see everything in an item. Since basic descriptions weren’t visible, perhaps information related to <Server Administrator> is transparently hidden from other Awakened.
“This is your ability, and you didn’t know that?”
“I told you before, I haven’t fully grasped all my abilities yet.”
What she hadn’t fully understood was the <Server Administrator> side, but it was half-true, so Saebyeok said it calmly.
“Anyway, I want to run a few experiments. Hwang Hunter, would you help me?”
She handed him one of the copies.
Even though she hadn’t explained what kind of experiment it was, he accepted without complaint.
The keys, which felt large in Saebyeok’s hands, looked miniature in Hwang Taesan’s grip.
When he held the key as if using it, a golden door appeared beside them.
“That’s the door we saw back then.”
“Try to go in.”
Hwang Taesan inserted the key into the center of the door.
The door trembled, then turned red. It reacted very differently from when Saebyeok had tried in the Yongdungeon.
A notification appeared in front of the door.
!! Notification !!
Unregistered key. A registration request has been sent to the owner.
Simultaneously, a personal window appeared before Saebyeok.
!! Notification !!
<Dragon Warrior> Hwang Taesan requests registration for <Anga Key Copy 1 (B)>.
※ Registered Copies (0/3): None
“So that’s how it works…”
After confirming there was no other information, Saebyeok pressed the accept button.
Ding! Ding!
Again, notifications appeared at the door and on the personal window simultaneously.
!! Notification !!
The owner of <Atlas’ Safehouse> on <Server: Earth (S3-EH)> has accepted the registration.
<Dragon Warrior> Hwang Taesan is designated as the manager of <Anga Key Copy 1 (B)>.
The red-fluctuating door changed to blue.
!! Notification !!
<Anga Key Copy 1 (B)> is registered to <Atlas’ Safehouse>.
<Dragon Warrior> Hwang Taesan is registered as the manager.
Immediately afterward, the key transformed into the shape of a ring.
Hwang Taesan looked at the thick ring in his palm, a clear expression of astonishment on his usually stern face.
“Is it really okay to just hand these out like this?”
“It’s an experiment. Just cooperate for a moment.”
Even though she said it casually, Saebyeok had a plan all along.
“Now, try going in.”
Hwang Taesan followed her hesitantly. The key rotated smoothly, and with the sound of multiple locks disengaging, the door opened.
He stepped in first, and Saebyeok followed closely behind.
“It works.”
She laughed dryly, astonished that it actually worked.
“Wait a moment. Stay here for a bit.”
Saebyeok quickly stepped out and grabbed her earring key.
Hwang Taesan created another door facing the first one. Upon entering,
“Wow! The doors are connected!”
It appeared inside as if she were coming through the same door Hwang Taesan used.
“Now could you step out again? I want to check something else.”
When she placed her foot on the door to check how the inventory functioned:
!! Notification !!
Please select the exit you wish to use.
Han Saebyeok (Master Key): Hunter Association Headquarters 1F, Korea
Hwang Taesan (Copy 1): Hunter Association Headquarters 1F
(Copy 2): –
!error! No data
Saebyeok was speechless at the new notification.
“Hwang Taesan can see this too?”
“What do you mean?”
“I guess only the Master Key allows me to see it…”
Saebyeok chose Hwang Taesan’s exit and stepped out. The original entrance she used automatically disappeared.
‘It’s like teleportation.’
Not only was the interior space distorted, but the exterior as well.
‘There are Hunters with teleportation skills… but usually with limits. Number of uses, distance…’
‘But this seems unrestricted….’
It gave that impression, typical of a <Server Administrator> skill.
“What else did you want to check?”
“If an inventory system pops up, like a grid window?”
“Inventory?”
The next moment, Hwang Taesan’s eyes widened. A grid window appeared between them.
“Wow, it works!”
Saebyeok clapped her hands, seeing the potions she had stored floating in the grid.
“Shall we take them out?”
Hwang Taesan hesitated, then tried taking one potion out and putting it back.
He had just seen those mysterious potions stored in a corner of the unknown room.
An inventory, which you can directly enter and check? A rare ability never seen before.
“What kind of skill is this…?”
“Shh. Only Hwang Taesan Hunter knows.”
Saebyeok put her index finger to her lips and whispered playfully.
“From now on, let’s use this for mission info and items. Using messengers risks leaks or loss, and meeting every time is troublesome.”
“And the keys…”
Hwang Taesan fiddled with the ring-shaped <Anga Key Copy>.
“How many copies can you make?”
If multiple copies were possible, he wanted to distribute them to guild members even at cost.
“Unfortunately, only three copies can be made. Also, judging by the registration process, only registered users can access it easily.”
Hwang Taesan looked slightly disappointed but quickly nodded in understanding.
“Of course, restrictions are natural.”
The existence of an unlimited inventory completely overturned everything he had known.
Hwang Taesan admired her for sharing such things openly, building trust without hesitation.
“I was thinking that paying scavenger weapon costs in cash is safer, so this is perfect. I’ll put everything here.”
“Good. I’ll also share any new mission info here.”
Hwang Taesan slipped the key-turned-ring onto his right index finger and nodded briefly.
“Also, can you tell the old man? About the work costs…”
At that moment:
“I knew you’d come through the back.”
A melodious voice floated from the end of the corridor.
“I didn’t know you two had a relationship. If you’re conspiring, let me join.”
Kim Ihan walked up, lightly joking but with a sharp, playful smile.
Beside him were Ipado and the Association President.
