Chapter 5. First Impressions of the ‘Black Shooter’ Team Members (1)
Not long after Jaehyuk subdued Kim Changshik, Hunter investigators from the Hunter Administration Bureau’s Hunter Investigation Division arrived.
“Oh my! Isn’t that Hunter Go Jaehyuk?!”
“Investigator Han Seonhoo came today.”
Among the investigator Hunters who had arrived, the one who appeared to be their leader greeted Jaehyuk warmly.
Han Seonhoo, who apparently hadn’t slept all night and hadn’t had a chance to tidy up his rough stubble, gave Kim Changshik, who was being handed over to them by Jaehyuk, a sharp once-over before smiling at Jaehyuk again.
“He doesn’t look like much of a Head Hunter if he needed Hunter Go Jaehyuk to step in. You actually took care of him yourself.”
“Normally, he wouldn’t have been worth getting my hands dirty over. But I came to pick up a precious guest and happened to see trash like that, so I couldn’t just ignore it.”
“He’s got some nerve, doing that in front of Hunter Go Jaehyuk. Thanks to him, we’ve ended up having a lucky day.”
Just as Kim Changshik was about to shout something, a machine-made mask was placed over his mouth.
Unable to say another word, he was dragged away and loaded into a vehicle.
Meanwhile, Taeyoon was sending the video he had recorded to another investigator Hunter while explaining the situation in detail.
Jaehyuk noticed Doyoon coming toward them, so he gave a final request to Han Seonhoo, who was standing comfortably close to him, and prepared to end their conversation.
“He almost attacked a civilian too, so please punish him as severely as possible~.”
“Of course. Then, take care. Good bounty hunting.”
Realizing Jaehyuk’s intention, Han Seonhoo immediately wrapped up the situation around them.
He was quite perceptive.
“Hunter Go Jaehyuk.”
Jaehyuk smiled when he saw Doyoon approaching in a sky-blue pajama set decorated with teddy bears, his hair still messy from having just woken up.
He had been wondering whether he should go over first, but Doyoon had come to him on his own.
It seemed he had made a good impression on his precious Healer, and that put him in a good mood.
‘Is he coming to thank me? Should I explain that this is just part of being a Hunter? Or should I tease Doyoon by saying it’s only natural for a knight serving His Imperial Majesty?’
“Thank you for helping me.”
But contrary to Jaehyuk’s expectations, Doyoon walked over to Han Seonhoo and politely bowed his head.
Han Seonhoo looked flustered and glanced at Jaehyuk before giving an awkward smile.
“Hunter Go Jaehyuk is over there.”
“Ah! I’m sorry.”
Seeing Han Seonhoo point toward Jaehyuk, Doyoon became flustered, bowed again, and hurried over to Jaehyuk.
“Thank you for helping me, Hunter Go Jaehyuk!”
“What should I do about this?”
“Huh?”
Jaehyuk bent down until his face was level with Doyoon’s.
Perhaps because he was remembering his mistake from moments ago, Doyoon’s blurry eyes darted all over the place.
“If you were offended because I mistook you for someone else, I’m sorry! As you know, my vision is impaired, and I haven’t memorized Hunter Go Jaehyuk’s physical features yet…”
Jaehyuk quietly watched Doyoon hurriedly make excuses before taking his hand and pulling him closer.
“Physical features, huh… Then should I have made you memorize my body before my face?”
The moment Jaehyuk’s low voice reached his ears, Doyoon jumped.

Jaehyuk stood proudly and began speaking.
“I’m 186 centimeters tall. My physique is solidly muscular from my Hunter lifestyle, with broad shoulders, long legs, and a shoe size of 285. My arms are long, so I always have to wear tailored clothes. And my hands are one finger joint longer than His Majesty’s.”
Finally, Jaehyuk brushed his slightly long hair back, then casually placed an arm around Doyoon’s shoulder and leaned against him.
“If you want to remember me by touching me, you can do so anytime. If it’s something His Majesty wants, I’ll permit anything.”

Doyoon belatedly came to his senses and shouted.

Taeyoon poked her in the side.

Taeyoon seemed satisfied and nodded.
Just then, Nayeon stepped in front of Taeyoon and asked Jaehyuk,
“My little brother is pretty cute, right?”
Jaehyuk thought about Nayeon’s intention for a moment before grinning.
“Yes. He’s quite cute. It’s hard for a grown man to be cute, after all.”
“You saw him properly.”
Nayeon gave him a thumbs-up.
Taeyoon lowered her hand and bowed his head maturely.
“Thank you for helping us. Thanks to you, my older brother and sister were able to stay safe.”
“I only did what I was supposed to do.”
Jaehyuk smiled warmly before turning his gaze toward Doyoon, who was standing quietly and looking at him.
“I think it’s time I heard your answer. So? Do you trust me now?”
At Jaehyuk’s gentle question, Doyoon blinked before nodding.
He had officially confirmed that the team existed, and thanks to Kim Changshik, the Hunter investigators from the Hunter Administration Bureau had arrived and essentially verified that Go Jaehyuk was a highly trustworthy person.
“Good. Will you join me?”
Jaehyuk held out his hand to Doyoon as if he already knew what his answer would be.
If Doyoon took that hand and shook it, it would be practically the same as officially joining his team.
Doyoon stared at the reddish hand extended toward him.
There was no denying that Jaehyuk was a strange person, but to Doyoon, the hand he offered looked like a lifeline descending from the heavens.
Doyoon took a deep breath before reaching out and grasping Jaehyuk’s hand.
“Yes. I will.”
Jaehyuk smiled and gently pushed Doyoon toward his house.
“Now, go get ready to go out, Your Majesty.”
“Don’t call me that!”
Doyoon hadn’t been able to react yesterday because everything had been so chaotic, but hearing it in front of his family was too embarrassing, and he shouted.
“Your Majesty?”
“That title sounds a little strange.”
At Nayeon and Taeyoon’s questions, Doyoon’s ears turned red as he hurried into the house.
He was in such a rush that he nearly tripped over the threshold of the front gate, but Taeyoon caught him.
“Hunter Go Jaehyuk, you’re so handsome. Please take good care of our little brother from now on. Nayeon kept chatting with Jaehyuk until Taeyoon eventually came back out and took her inside.

Nayeon, who had practically been pushed into the house by Taeyoon, flung open Doyoon’s bedroom door and made a huge fuss.
“Noona, I’m changing clothes!”
“Yeah, change. Who said you couldn’t? Now hurry up and tell me everything while you’re changing.”
“Ah! Seriously!”
Even though Doyoon was annoyed, Nayeon had no intention of leaving.
This time, Taeyoon also came inside and began watching while eating snacks.
“Hyung, I looked into it after we checked the team information yesterday. Apparently, bounty hunters hunt down Head Hunters for their bounties? Then does that mean you have to go around hunting other Hunters too?”
“How can someone have eyelashes that thick? Taeyoon, did you see that man’s eyelashes? A-ma-zing! They’re so long. And I think his skin is even better than mine.”
“Haa…”
Doyoon glanced at the two people making an even bigger fuss than he was.
He had planned to go out wearing his usual gray hoodie and jeans, but Nayeon stopped him.
“You’re really planning to go out dressed like this?”
“Then what?”
“Hey, you can’t wear something like this on your first day!”
“That’s right, Hyung. If you go with that Hunter now, you’re going to meet your team members, right? First impressions are really important. They say it only takes three seconds to judge a person. And apparently, that impression can last a lifetime.”
With not only Nayeon but even Taeyoon joining in to stop him, Doyoon had no choice but to stand in front of his wardrobe again.
“But other clothes are uncomfortable…”
“I know you’re saying that because your hair stands out, okay? I told you to walk around confidently. You look good. You’re completely mysterious. You’re the very definition of a Healer.”
“I told you I hate that?! Dad told me to be careful!”
Doyoon timidly touched his hair, which had turned white after his awakening.
While Nayeon sighed in frustration, Taeyoon was searching through not only Doyoon’s wardrobe but his own as well.
“Would wearing a hat seem a little disrespectful?”
Doyoon felt like he was going to collapse from being constantly pestered by his older sister and younger brother even before he had gone to work.
After being forced to change clothes several times, he waited for the moment they let their guard down, then suddenly pushed past them and ran away.
Terrified that Nayeon might catch him, Doyoon ran with all his strength.
But then his foot caught on the threshold of the front gate.
“Ah!”
Doyoon instinctively grabbed onto someone who had stepped onto the concrete floor in front of him.
Even in his confused state, Doyoon realized he had been rude and began wondering how he should apologize.
“Hmm. If you wanted to touch my body, you should’ve said so first.”
Only after hearing Jaehyuk’s voice above his head did Doyoon realize that he was holding onto Jaehyuk’s waist.
Doyoon’s face once again turned bright red with embarrassment.
