Chapter 01
I’m Possessed by My Favorite’s Favorite
“Hello-!”
A greeting that sounded confident yet adorable.
Even through the half-obstructed view caused by the hat pulled down low, the crescent-shaped eyes folding softly into a smile were clearly visible.
When I slightly nodded and sat down, her lovely expression and bright smile became even easier to see.
“Oh! It’s your first time here, right?”
“Yes.”
“Really? I’m so happy to meet you. By any chance, who do you like the most? Hmm…… Is it me?”
Even while signing the album, she kept glancing over, tilting her head curiously, trying to make eye contact for even a little longer. It was cute.
At the same time, it was heartbreaking.
She probably knew better than anyone.
That there were no fans who had chosen her as their favorite.
Especially if it was a fan attending a signing event for the first time.
But even so, she never lost her unique cheerfulness and smiled warmly.
Even though she knew there were no home photographers taking pictures of her, she still looked toward the cameras and posed enthusiastically.
Even if the person changed, that part would never change.
That was exactly why I loved her so much, and seeing that she still hadn’t changed even now made me love her even more.
“If there’s a fan that left a lasting impression on Ayoung? Hmm……”
Ayoung read the question written on the post-it note out loud. After thinking for a moment, she continued answering.
“There is one. She was someone who very rarely liked me the most……”
For that brief moment, Ayoung’s eyes sank calmly, like a puppy that had lost its owner.
For a second, I almost forgot my current situation and almost said, I’m that person.
‘That was close. Good job holding back.’
“Uh…… Are you okay? Were you really nervous?”
As I touched my chest in relief, Ayoung immediately returned to her usual smiling eyes and looked at me with concern.
Then, the moment our eyes met—
“Huh?”
Ayoung’s startled eyes widened.
With eyes so wide they looked almost like a rabbit’s, Ayoung covered her mouth and stared at the fan in front of her like she had turned into a statue.
She knew Ayoung better than anyone else.
Because of that, she could also tell that Ayoung was about to scream in surprise.
“Shh!”
The fan in front of her, Jihyun, lowered her head and whispered toward Ayoung.
Then she calculated in her mind how many seconds were left.
Each member was given around 100 seconds.
It seemed like they had talked for about 20 seconds, meaning she only had about one minute left to explain the situation to Ayoung.
That would be enough.
“You know who I am, right?”
“Oh my gosh, yes! Of course I do! You’re Senior An Jihyun. Moa!”
Ayoung spoke in a small voice, but with as much excitement as she could put into it.
“I’m really your fan. I mean, oh my gosh, what is happening…… This, this is a joke, right? Are we filming some kind of self-content right now?”
<We Came to Play>, <MoaMoa>, <Moa House>, and so on.
As if she wanted to prove she was truly Jihyun’s biggest fan, Ayoung excitedly rambled about all the self-produced content she had watched.
Perhaps the first time that rare fan who said she liked Ayoung the most met her, she must have looked exactly like this too.
A powerful feeling of familiarity suddenly rose inside her, along with the desire to talk about that person.
But unfortunately, there wasn’t much time.
So she would talk about everything she wanted later.
For now, she had to move on.
“It’s not something like that.”
“Then what is it?”
“I just came here with my own money.”
“Why?”
It was such a fundamental and funny question.
Jihyun laughed softly, as if she found the surprised Ayoung unbearably cute, and answered.
“Because I like you.”
“I mean, I’m the one who should say that…… But why would someone like you even…….”
Why would someone like you even…
There were countless things she wanted to say in response.
Because just as Ayoung liked Jihyun, or perhaps even more than that, Ayoung was someone incredibly precious to her.
But there was no time now.
Jihyun handed Ayoung a letter she had prepared beforehand.
“There’s something I really want Ayoung to do.”
“Of course I’ll do it! What is it?”
Ayoung looked like a puppy wagging its tail after getting ready for a walk as she hurriedly prepared herself, asking if it was some kind of challenge.
At the same time, she started listing the challenges Jihyun had done before.
It was almost amazing how much she had followed Jihyun, remembering even the order of them.
But that wasn’t what Jihyun wanted.
“This time, YTB is planning a trainee survival program. It’ll be happening soon.”
“Yes, yes. Yes……?”
“Please move to the next seat.”
It felt like no time had passed at all.
At the fan manager’s words, Jihyun reluctantly let go of her disappointment and held Ayoung’s hand tightly one last time.
“Please participate in it. No matter what.”
