Chapter 2

Violet’s Words

Violet slowly opened her eyes where she sat.

After giving up on the training of storing mana inside her body, she had tried training to form circles as an experiment.

‘This is fun…….’

Something that had never worked no matter how hard she struggled was finally happening, and it was so enjoyable that she became completely absorbed in it.

For three days already, she had been devoting herself to this training alone inside the empty house.

“Ah, today is the day of the additional exam. I should go to the academy.”

The academy was currently on vacation. Normally, this would have been her final semester, her graduating year.

However, Violet had repeatedly failed.

The reason she was going to the academy today was to take the additional exam.

Violet arrived at the training grounds where the exam was supposed to take place.

But she had already expected that Professor Colbera, the person in charge, would not arrive on time.

When she heard people whisper that it was their first time seeing a professor ostracize a student, Violet couldn’t help but feel her face burn.

‘At first, I wondered why he was bullying me like this.’

The reason was simple.

When Violet was fourteen years old, her professor in charge, Colbera, had proposed to her despite being twenty years older than her…

‘He proposed to me…….’

Of course, she had refused as politely as possible.

Later, when Violet’s fiancé Bluedin heard the story, he laughed and said:

[“Colbera’s intentions are obvious. If he married a rich family’s illegitimate daughter like you, your father would probably give him a fortune out of gratitude. Since you rudely rejected him, you got on the professor’s bad side!”]

Only then did Violet understand everything.

But she still had a question.

‘How much more politely was I supposed to reject his proposal?’

She had clearly said that she was sorry but couldn’t accept it.

And yet that wasn’t polite enough?

Then was she supposed to kneel down and cry while refusing to make it a “polite rejection of a marriage proposal”?

‘Would I have been hated less then?’

She didn’t think so.

People who are determined to hate someone will criticize them no matter what they do.

And exactly three hours later, Colbera arrived.

“What kind of posture is that? Look at you standing crookedly. To think my precious time is being wasted because of a worthless failure like you. I’m already exhausted!”

Colbera was a man who, despite being a knight, had a small build and a sharp, unpleasant appearance.

Violet stared at him expressionlessly.

‘Was coming here pointless?’

Still, since the additional exam had been scheduled beforehand, she had planned to maintain proper manners until today.

But at that moment, she completely lost her attachment to the academy.

After all, during her entire time there, not a single person had noticed Violet’s talent.

So she could quit whenever she wanted.

“Forget training as a knight. Since your head is empty and you managed to snatch yourself a wealthy fiancé, I suppose you think that’s enough. Honestly, tsk……”

Colbera muttered loudly enough for her to hear and sighed.

Then he walked toward the command platform of the training grounds.

The elevated platform, built with stairs, was designed like a stage so instructors could look down on students from above.

At that moment—

‘Huh?’

Ting.

A clear, beautiful sound rang in her ears again.

‘Am I seeing the future again?’

Violet stood proudly.

And beneath Violet’s boot…

Colbera’s head was being pressed down.

His face was twisted so badly that it was impossible to recognize his expression.

But Colbera looked at least ten years older than he did now.

<“My subordinates asked me. Why did I choose to attack and destroy an academy that had no value whatsoever? The answer is you, Colbera.”>

Colbera couldn’t respond, as if his mouth had been blocked.

“Ugh… ugh…”

Only meaningless sounds came out.

<“You disgusting pig. Because you held a grudge over being rejected by me, you eventually spread rumors about me that I don’t even want to repeat right before graduation. Because of that, I was expelled.”>

Around Violet’s body were mana circles.

Violet touched one of those circles.

Then she slowly molded it with her hands.

Before long, it became dozens of sharp crystal-shaped fragments.

<“Remember this. This is the true power of the student whose life you ruined by turning her into a failure.”>

When Violet waved her hand, hundreds of pieces of aura flew toward Colbera.

The vision of the future ended.

Standing in the training grounds, Violet swallowed dryly.

‘The future me kills Colbera?’

And didn’t she say at the end that she had killed more than 700 people?

‘No wonder I was executed…….’

While Violet was standing there in a daze, Colbera shouted.

“I told you to show me the basic techniques first. Slash, horizontal slash! Move faster!”

Violet’s blood pressure rose for a moment.

‘I don’t plan on killing anyone, but I can somewhat understand future me…….’

Violet clenched her teeth.

Colbera was sitting in a chair at the center of the command platform above the training grounds.

And while lazily moving his foot, he openly began reading a magazine.

His intentions were obvious.

The moment Violet started swinging her sword, he planned to treat her like an invisible person and make her repeat the same techniques endlessly.

She had already experienced this many times.

Violet considered leaving immediately.

But then she changed her mind and removed the practice sword hanging from her waist, gripping it in her hand.

‘That technique of carving and molding aura…… can I do it like my future self?’

Violet activated the mana circles surrounding her body.

‘It really… can be grabbed?’

Violet was shocked when the aura became something she could hold in her hands.

She had never learned anything like this anywhere.

Violet gently brushed over the aura with her hand.

The sharp aura soon transformed into a sharp crystal shape.

‘Am I really…… a genius?’

Violet was speechless.

Then she focused all her strength and created exactly three crystals.

Sweat poured down her entire body, and every muscle was tense from the effort.

But Colbera only yawned while flipping through his book, completely unaware of what Violet was doing.

‘Ah, right. The assignment.’

Violet slowly left the aura crystals where they were and demonstrated the techniques.

“Professor, I have demonstrated the techniques as you instructed.”

Naturally, Colbera didn’t even look at her.

‘Of course.’

A cold smile appeared on Violet’s lips.

“Professor, didn’t you hear me?”

Colbera sneered and continued flipping through his magazine.

“You idiot. Call me a hundred times if you want.”

The mocking tone finally broke Violet’s patience.

Violet slowly began walking out of the training grounds.

Since he treated her like an invisible person, she decided to leave like an invisible person.

At that moment, Colbera suddenly became furious and raised his head.

“You stupid illegitimate brat! Do you not understand what I’m saying? Stand there and keep swinging that sword like I told you!”

Colbera grabbed the wooden practice sword leaning beside his chair and threw it.

“Ah!”

If it hit her properly, she could be seriously injured.

Feeling threatened, Violet sent out the aura crystal floating near her body.

The wooden sword and the aura crystal collided.

However, the crystal shattered the wooden sword into pieces and continued forward.

“Ugh!”

This time, Colbera screamed.

The aura crystal was heading directly toward Colbera’s head.

‘No! I can’t kill someone here!’

She absolutely refused to walk the path of becoming a notorious villainess.

Violet barely managed to change the trajectory of the aura crystal.

The crystal that had been aimed at Colbera’s forehead narrowly grazed the top of his head and embedded itself into the wall of the training grounds.

“Ahhh!”

Colbera fell out of his chair in an embarrassing manner, rolled on the floor, and cried out in pain.

And then……

Crack! Boom!

A huge spiderweb-like crack appeared on the wall where the aura crystal had struck.

A deep crater was also carved into it.

‘Wow…….’

Violet stared blankly at the cracked wall.

If it had hit Colbera’s forehead directly, his head would have shattered like a smashed watermelon.

Before she knew it, Colbera was unconscious, his mouth open and his eyes rolled upward.

‘He fainted just from being grazed? This…… actually works?’

Violet had accidentally completed her ultimate move.
