Chapter 10
“Is it something like when Gary uses magic to put a protective barrier around the house? Can Neya do it too?”
“Yes, I can!”
She didn’t really know what it was, but if it was something she could do, Neya nodded vigorously with excitement.
“Then I’ll clean your room for you, Neya. Go to my room and change into the green dress. You need to wear something comfortable.”
“Okay!”
Neya immediately rummaged through her wardrobe, grabbed a cute dress mixed with white and green, and hurried out of the room. She looked extremely excited.
As soon as she dashed out, only Gary and Shane were left in the room.
Gary asked hesitantly, “What exactly are you planning to have her do?”
Shane replied calmly, “The maid brought a bunch of flower seeds. She said they were a free gift from the grocery store.”
“Wait a second.”
Gary quickly cut in.
Then, with an uneasy smile, he said, “…This manor used to ban flowers entirely, didn’t it? Azure hated them a lot.”
“Yes, that’s right.”
Azure had hated all kinds of flowers. Both of them knew the reason well.
Because of that, there had never been so much as a flower planted here—not even for decoration, let alone a proper garden. So suddenly planting flowers felt strange.
But whether he understood Gary’s concern or not, Shane calmly opened the notebook he always carried.
“Still, Neya likes flowers. And at her age, it’s good for emotional development to try growing things. Besides, the lady won’t be coming anywhere near the garden, so it shouldn’t be a problem.”
“……”
Gary felt, once again, that Shane had become an impressively proper parent.
The three of them, including Neya, went out to the garden behind the manor.
The garden beds were filled with nutrient-rich soil, but since no one had any interest in growing crops, it had been left unattended.
It was good land for cultivation, but since all they had were flower seeds, they decided to fill the garden with flowers instead of its original purpose.
“I’m ready!”
Neya shouted energetically. She was holding a small gardening shovel in one hand.
Since the sun was blazing, Shane had prepared a straw hat and placed it on Neya’s head.
In a green-toned dress and a straw hat, Neya looked absolutely adorable.
Gary smiled warmly and murmured, “She’s seriously too cute… I should’ve brought a camera.”
“I already brought one.”
Shane calmly pulled out a camera he had prepared in advance. Gary looked at him in disbelief.
Ignoring Gary’s gaze, Shane raised the camera.
“Neya, please stand still.”
“Yes!”
Neya smiled brightly at Shane, still tightly holding her small shovel in one hand.
