Chapter 07
“Wow!”
Bunny’s mouth fell open.
The place Bunny had arrived at with the other children was a small shrine inside the duke’s estate.
It was called the “Blessing Room,” since the shrine only opened during summoning ceremonies held by the ducal family.
To be precise, the Blessing Room was the massive hall inside that shrine-like structure.
The enormous central hall, a small table in the middle, and rows of circular seats around it made the place feel more like a courtroom.
Bunny walked at the back of the group, looking around excitedly.
On the central table was a strangely transparent glass orb. It was so clear that Bunny thought it looked like a droplet of water.
“Please stand here, young ladies and young masters. When your name is called, step forward and follow the instructions,” said Jessie, who had come as an assistant to help manage the children.
Bunny’s eyes sparkled.
She remembered again what was written in Luriel’s secret notebook.
Don’t worry, my child. You are special. I’m sure you’ll summon something amazing and incredible.
Bunny’s body began to bounce with excitement.
Something amazing and incredible!
As far as Bunny knew, there was only one thing that fit that description.
‘I’m going to summon a super strong dragon!’
Luriel was always right, so this time too, something amazing would definitely appear.
A dragon that shoots fire beams!
Riding on its back and flying through the sky!
Hehe, then all the “dad candidates” will line up behind Bunny.
Lost in imagination, Bunny smugly rubbed under her nose.
In her fantasy, adults fought over her:
“A child this talented! Please let me be your father! I’ll raise you with love until you grow up!”
“Hmph. Only a child like mine deserves such talent. I’ll give you a castle made of premium chocolate.”
“What? That shabby-looking rabbit is the dragon’s master? I can’t believe it—!”
Bunny suddenly snapped back to reality.
‘Secret about being the Demon King!’
She shook her head quickly and returned to her dreamy thoughts.
“Lady Bunny.”
“Ah, Roden!”
Bunny raised her hand brightly at the familiar voice.
“Good morning,” Roden Hainer greeted.
“I’m doing great! No disasters, totally adapted to the duke house! Soon I’ll be popularity level max!” Bunny declared, giving a thumbs-up.
Roden couldn’t help but chuckle. The surrounding children widened their eyes.
“…Did that knight just laugh?”
“The emotionless Roden Hainer?”
“No way, I must’ve misseen it.”
Bunny noticed nothing and proudly showed off her stuffed bear charm tied to her back.
“Is that a teddy bear?” Roden asked.
“Yes! It’s Magomi, who gives me courage!”
“Magomi… I see.”
Roden crouched and carefully retied the bear so it wouldn’t fall.
All around them, whispers spread.
She bowed to a knight…
What is she doing?
Roden extended a hand but stopped, unsure what to do.
Then Bunny suddenly straightened and pressed her head into his hand.
“Head pats are nice!”
“…I see.”
Roden gently patted her head.
“Shall we go?”
“Yes!”
And so they headed toward the main hall.
Inside the estate, the duke, Roden, and several high-ranking members of the family were already gathered.
“The Duke of Yudia, Lord Roden Hainer, First Knight Commander Clain Yudia, Saint Salame Yudia, and Lord Kiriel Yudia have arrived.”
The summoning ceremony was about to begin.
Children quickly bowed. Bunny followed suit—though awkwardly.
She bent too far forward, arms stretched back like a bird about to fly, with her teddy bear also bending in half behind her.
Someone stifled a laugh.
“Begin,” said the duke.
The saint stepped forward and placed her hand on the crystal orb.
A pure white light poured out.
Bunny froze.
‘White light! I’m going to die! I’ll turn to dust!’
She quickly hid behind what she thought was a pillar.
“…Lady Bunny?”
It was Roden’s leg.
She had hidden behind him.
But even there, she wasn’t actually covered at all.
“Are you alright?”
“I—” Bunny started.
Wait.
Nothing happened.
No dust.
No collapse.
No pain.
She blinked.
She was completely fine.
Then—
‘Wait… does that mean I’m already super strong?!’
