Chapter 06
The next morning, Nana woke up with messy hair and a tired face. The moment she opened her eyes, she let out a deep sigh.
Q. A worker has joined the farm. But the worker seems to be a sword-carrying lunatic with anger issues. What should you do?
- Abandon the farm and run away.
- Fire the sword-carrying worker.
- Just make him work.
Number 1 was impossible. She worked so hard to build this farm! If anyone was leaving, it should be the worker, not the owner.
As for number 2, she couldn’t. Firing him was not allowed for three months.
That left only number 3.
“I really hate this trash game…”
With another sigh, Nana opened the settings window.
She had found it by accident yesterday while desperately looking for a way to kick Ishanka out.
“I should’ve known about this earlier… No, they should’ve told me to set this up in advance!”
Feeling betrayed by the system, she looked out the window. The sky was bright and clear—completely opposite of her mood.
“Wait. If I’m the employer… shouldn’t I have skills related to controlling workers?”
Like Command. Or maybe… Command.
She quickly opened the skill window and found what she was looking for.
“Ah! Found it!”
Under Worker Employment, there was a detailed skill called Command.
She read the description carefully.
<The Farm Owner can issue commands to workers. If a worker refuses to work, slacks off, or disobeys, you may enforce a command. A commanded worker will be restricted in action and must obey until the command is lifted. If a worker attempts to run far away, use Forced Return. As long as a worker is employed on the farm, they cannot defy the Farm Owner.>
Hope returned to Nana’s face.
“Ha… so the world hasn’t abandoned me after all.”
Even if he was a sword-carrying madman, she could control him with a command!
“Long live the employer!”
Feeling much braver, Nana washed up quickly and changed into comfortable work clothes before opening her door confidently.
She expected him to still be asleep.
He wasn’t.
Ishanka was already awake, leaning against the wall, looking out the window.
Now that she wasn’t panicking like yesterday, she could see him properly.
‘Wow… seriously. He’s insanely handsome.’
He was just wearing a simple shirt and pants, but he looked like he stepped out of a fashion magazine. No model could compare.
When she first created her player character, Adrienne, she had stayed up all night customizing her face. She was proud of how beautiful her character looked.
But this man… he was on another level.
And yet—
‘Such a waste of a face on a crazy sword guy.’
Still, she had Command.
Nana cleared her throat from a safe distance—very safe.
Even with Command, she wasn’t stupid enough to stand too close.
At the sound, Ishanka turned toward her.
“You are awake.”
“Yeah. Good morning. Why are you suddenly speaking politely?”
“You are my employer. A worker should not speak casually to their employer.”
“You have common sense too?”
She muttered, then quickly straightened.
“Well… since you are a farm worker now, you’ll have to work.”
She braced herself, ready to use Command if he reached for his sword.
Instead, he simply nodded.
“What should I do?”
“First thing in the morning, we water the crops. The sun isn’t fully up yet, but if we work now, we can rest by noon. It gets too hot in the afternoon. Here—take this watering can. Fill it from the lake and water the crops.”
“Should I use the well?”
“The well is for drinking water, and the bucket is small. The lake is faster.”
He accepted the large watering can without complaint and walked outside.
Nana nearly collapsed from relief.
‘Thank goodness he didn’t suddenly swing his sword…’
She grabbed another watering can and followed.
By the time she reached the lake, he was already working.
She secretly watched him while filling her can, nervous that he might suddenly smash something or trample the crops.
But he simply worked quietly.
‘If he stays like this, maybe it’ll be fine…’
Then she remembered.
Hidden Character.
The message yesterday had said she needed to discover his name herself.
She vaguely remembered reading in the MasFarm user community that meeting a hidden character was extremely difficult. And even if you met one, they were hard to recruit.
‘Wasn’t there something about saving his younger sister first…?’
She hadn’t paid much attention back then.
If she had known she would end up inside the game, she would’ve memorized every guide.
Sighing, she poured the last of her water over the beets.
Suddenly, a shadow fell over her.
She looked up.
Ishanka stood there.
“Wah! What is it?!”
“I have completed the task.”
“Already?”
She hurried to check the field.
He was right.
The field wasn’t huge, but when she did it alone, watering took until nearly noon.
Yet every plant had been watered evenly—perfectly.
“You’re… fast. When did you finish?”
“It wasn’t difficult. Using only one watering can is inefficient. I used two.”
‘Two?!’
She looked at him properly.
His body wasn’t built from farm labor like Ash’s, but it was solid and powerful. His rolled-up sleeves revealed thick muscle.
“Is there anything else you would like me to do?”
“I was planning to rest after lunch and pull weeds later—Wait! Your arm!”
She grabbed his wrist.
A deep scratch ran across the inside of his forearm, still bleeding slightly.
“You’re bleeding! Why didn’t you say anything?”
“I did not notice until you began shouting.”
He wasn’t lying.
As the incarnation of the God of War, his recovery ability was far beyond normal humans. This wound would disappear in a few days.
But Nana didn’t know that.
She ran inside and came back with a first-aid kit.
“I’ll disinfect it first. It might sting.”
“This is nothing. It will heal on its own.”
He tried to pull away.
She held tighter, her expression serious.
“Don’t you know a farmer’s body is their life? If a small wound gets infected, what then?!”
“But I—”
“You got hurt while working. That makes it my responsibility as your employer. Stay still. If you keep resisting, I’ll tie you up and treat you.”
Tie him up?
With those small hands?
Ishanka almost laughed.
If he wanted, he could easily break free.
Instead, he stayed still.
Like a silent predator.
She lowered her head to apply medicine.
Her pale neck was completely exposed.
‘Go ahead,’ he thought coldly.
If she tries anything suspicious under the excuse of treatment—
I’ll snap that fragile neck without hesitation.a
